May is the official beginning of the summer season, all hotels, restaurants and beach clubs open and the famous nightlife comes alive with the openings of the super clubs.

In the month of May, the Ibiza summer season really begins: all hotels and restaurants are open, there are direct flights from many destinations, sun-loungers are being put out on the beaches and the first holidaymakers enjoy a dip in the island's crystal-clear waters.

Most of the large clubs of the island open their doors this month too, with their opening parties being very popular for clubbers around the globe. With an infectious happy vibe, these events are a great way to celebrate the beginning the new clubbing season. Find all dates in our party calendar.

On the second weekend in May, the Medieval Festival takes over the old walled citadel of Dalt Vila in Ibiza Town. Full of atmosphere, the processions, stalls selling handmade items and live demonstrations of long forgotten crafts all combine to create a great weekend.
