October brings plenty of reasons to explore beyond Ibiza's beaches and nightlife. This month's pick of things to do ranges from international jazz and contemporary art to cycling, trail running, local food fairs and traditional island celebrations, with Formentera joining in too.
Guided tours and wine tasting at Can Rich
Monday to Friday, from 10:00
After the harvest, October is the ideal time to visit the Can Rich Winery. The experience takes you through the vineyards, where you learn about the production process behind its wines and specialities.
The full tour includes the guided tour, tasting of three wines (white, rosé and red), along with Hierbas Ibicencas liqueur, accompanied by a selection of local products such as cured meats, cheeses, traditional bread and organic extra virgin olive oil.
Punta Arabí Hippy Market
Every Wednesday
Taking place in the holiday resort of Es Caná, Punta Arabí Hippy Market is the oldest and largest market in Ibiza. With over 400 stalls offering items from all over the world alongside local produce, it's the ideal place to find that holiday gift or souvenir to take home.
A visit there makes a great day out for all the family. Check out the kids' area, get a bite to eat at one of the food trucks, and sit back in one of the areas featuring live music.
Horse As Muse
Flexible dates
Interested in an art workshop with a little extra horsepower? Horse As Muse offers a creative escape in the countryside of San Rafael, combining painting, nature and gentle encounters with resident horses Matewa and Canela. Led by island-based artist Amy Agouropoulos, the private workshops are suitable for adults and children, with no previous painting or horse experience required.
Around the island adventure
1 to 11 October
Fancy seeing Ibiza from a different perspective? Around the Island Adventure is an 11-day walking journey following the island's entire coastline, covering around 260km in total. With roughly 25km to walk each day, it's certainly not a gentle stroll, but for keen walkers it offers a chance to experience Ibiza's landscapes, coastline and quieter corners at a much slower pace.
Sonorama Ribera goes to Ibiza
2 & 3 October
Sonorama Festival returns to Ibiza with its mix of intimate concerts by Spanish artists and bands, alongside talks, art exhibitions, activities and wine tastings. A multi-faceted festival that brings together music, culture and gastronomy for two days on the island.

Oktoberfest at Tanit Beach Ibiza

Fancy some German fair? Tanit Beach in Playa d'en Bossa is putting on its own Ibiza Oktoberfest with everything typically German, from food, beer to music and outfits. Win a prize for the best costume. Are you in?
La Verbenita Club

For this edition, La Verbenita Club is taking over Vara de Rey for 12 hours non-stop. With a tortilla contest, rumba and salsa flair with a modern twist, all in an open-air club format, it's easy to see why this event is one of the locals favourites.
Triathlon Illa de Formentera

For those who like their island escapes with a bit of a challenge, the Triathlon Illa de Formentera combines swimming, cycling and running against the backdrop of Formentera. There are Olympic and Sprint distances, with both available to individuals or teams. The course starts in Es Pujols, making this a particularly scenic way to explore the island at a rather faster pace.
Eivissa Clàssica
3 and 23 October
Taking place in Ibiza Town, Eivissa Clàssica concerts explore everything from the Baroque Mediterranean to the great sound worlds of Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and Grieg, alongside a new multidisciplinary production created especially for the festival.
Art Initiatives Benefit Auction
4 October, from 12:00
Art Initiatives Benefit Auction brings artists, collectors and cultural figures together around a long lunch at Juntos House in San Mateo. This year's edition, titled Negotiating Belonging, explores ideas of identity, place, memory and community, with a benefit auction forming part of the afternoon. Proceeds go towards creative education in Nairobi and initiatives supporting land, housing and cultural spaces in the Balearics.
Posidonia Swimming Race

Fancy taking the plunge? Posidonia Swimming Race is the annual challenge around the waters of Es Vedrà, starting from Cala d'Hort. Swimmers can choose between a 5km route around Es Vedranell and back, or the longer 10km course taking in both rocky islets. Places are limited, so anyone wanting to take part needs to register in advance.
Vuelta a Ibiza Cicloturista Campagnolo
9 to 12 October
Vuelta a Ibiza Cicloturista Campagnolo returns for another four-day tour of the island, starting from San Antonio and taking in all five municipalities. The routes combine timed sections and an individual time trial, with cyclists of all abilities riding alongside some familiar names from the world of professional cycling. It's a good way to see a different side of Ibiza, too.
15K Formentera Night Run
10 October, from 18:00
The 15K Formentera Night Run takes runners around the island after dark, with a 15km route accompanied by the cooler air and atmosphere of the evening. There's also a shorter 5K Sunset Run, making this a good option for those who fancy a less demanding way to get involved.
Not your average evening jog.
Lotus Art In Motion
10 & 11 October
Lotus Art In Motion returns to Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza for a weekend bringing contemporary art, music and visual installations together. Around 20 artists from 15 countries are taking part, with painting, sculpture, photography and digital art on show. Sunday is open to the public, with free entry.
Pujada a La Mola
12 October, from 10:30
The annual Pujada a La Mola is an 8.6km mountain race from Es Caló de Sant Agustí up to the highest point on Formentera. Following the old Camí Romà and taking place on the day of El Pilar, it also forms part of the festivities in El Pilar de la Mola. The race is open to all ages and categories.
Soul Food Fest at Caló de S'Oli
12 October, from 12:30
Soul Food Fest at Caló de S'Oli celebrates the flavours of the American South alongside the blues and soul traditions that grew from them. Part of the Cala de Bou festivities, the open-air event returns to the auditorium for a day of Southern US cuisine and music, with the full programme still to be announced. Come hungry!
Jazz Point Ibiza
15 to 18 October
For a change of tempo, head for Jazz Point Ibiza, which returns for four days of international jazz, with a new format for 2026. The festival moves exclusively to the hotel The Standard, Ibiza, where afternoon concerts take place on the UP rooftop before the evening programme moves downstairs to JARA.
The line-up brings together an impressive collection of international jazz musicians, with performances ranging from guitar and piano to trumpet and saxophone. There are also open master classes for local musicians, giving the festival a slightly more participatory side.
Pujada a Sa Cala
16 to 18 October
Car enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to when the annual Pujada a Sa Cala hill climb comes to the roads around Cala San Vicente. The weekend sees competitors tackle the winding route towards the coast, with practice runs followed by the main races. There is also a chance to see the cars up close during inspection in Ibiza Town.
Ibiza Wellness Weekend
16 to 18 October
Fancy a little reset? Ibiza Wellness Weekend brings together a range of activities and professionals from the wellness world at venues across the north of the island. With events taking place around San Miguel, San Juan and Santa Eulalia, it's a chance to explore a different side of Ibiza while picking up a few ideas for healthier living along the way.
Ibiza Salt Fair
16 to 18 October, from 10:00
The annual Fira de la Sal celebrates Ibiza's long relationship with salt production at the salt pans of Ses Salines. Expect demonstrations of traditional salt harvesting, guided tours, food, local crafts and folk dancing, alongside activities exploring the area's natural environment. It's one of those events that offers a glimpse of an Ibiza well beyond the beaches and clubs.

Marine Forum Ibiza and Formentera 2026

The Marine Forum Ibiza and Formentera brings together scientists, institutional representatives and social organisations to discuss the major challenges facing the Mediterranean. The 2026 programme is still to be announced.
Walk around Formentera in 4 days
22 to 25 October
Fancy seeing Formentera on foot? Around the Island Adventure covers 86km of coastline over four days, taking in cliffs, secluded beaches, woodland and long sandy stretches along the way. Organised by Ibiza Outdoors, the guided trip includes accommodation, meals, transfers and the boat crossing, leaving participants to concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other.
Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival
24 October, from 07:30
The Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival gives runners three ways to tackle Ibiza's trails, from an 11km route to a 27km trail and a full 48km marathon. Starting in San Antonio, the routes take in some of the island's natural scenery, making this as much about exploring the landscape as putting yourself through your paces. Spectating is encouraged.
Fira des Calamar
[2026 date TBC]
The annual Fira des Calamar brings a taste of Ibiza's fishing heritage to the village of San Carlos, with squid taking centre stage. Expect plenty of local recipes, along with an artisan market, children's activities and live music. Held as part of the village's patron saint festivities, it's a suitably lively way to celebrate one of the island's more traditional gastronomic events.
Come for the squid, stay for the fiesta!
Halloween Celebrations
31 October
Halloween is a massive date on the calendar in Ibiza with events and parties taking place in the villages and venues.
