May opening weekend looms on Ibiza

Could this be the biggest opening weekend of the season so far?

Since Ibiza's club powered up at the end of April, we've enjoyed three weekends of opened dancefloors and rampant clubbing joy.

This weekend could be the biggest one yet!

Further venues stage lavish opening parties, while those already underway raise their game so not to be forgotten about.

Add to that the weather hovering in the mid-twenty degree Celsius range and it's destined to be a weekend of epic proportions.

After last month's teaser, Amnesia opens for real

18-hours of pure bliss lay in store in San Rafael.

Amnesia makes an almighty return like no other for its full Opening Party this Saturday 21 May. Commencing at 18:00 through until noon the next day, brace yourselves for a marathon session of move-busting,  first-class electronic music brought to you by the world’s best DJs.

Ranging from bouncy Tech House to the darkest corners of industrial Techno, find your space and let the music take you forward.

Extended sets are scheduled for Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and Nina Kraviz, with the Paradise boss closing The Terraza. Other big names include Eats Everything, Archie Hamilton, Marcel Dettmann, Seb Zito and Lilly Palmer alongside Amnesia's resident DJs.

10/10 for infectious vibes.

Plan your tactics accordingly. The only way to end this party is by still being on the dancefloor at kick-out time. Last remaining tickets can be bought here.

Ibiza Rocks box office is open

Earlier in the day, we have another summer 2022 milestone.

21 May is the start of another summer to remember at Ibiza Rocks. This means a whole season of explosive pool parties, live performances and outdoor vibes get underway. From 14:00 until 21:00, a full day of fun-filled poolside action lies in store.

Rappers, live instrumentals and headline DJ sets from some weekly residents, Ibiza Rocks present a snapshot of its entire summer. Nathan Dawe, Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago, ZieZie and Patrick Nazemi are all playing the Opening Party before coming back for more later this summer.

Whether you fancy taking it easy on a deluxe sunbed, chilling by the pool or cutting some shapes on the D-floor, the freedom to party as you please is what Ibiza Rocks is all about.

Ticket for this one can be grabbed here.

Solomun at Pacha Ibiza by Mario Pinta

Solomun is back at Pacha

Don't get complacent, because before the weekend is over there's still another opening party to attend (and we don't want to hear excuses about having only left Amnesia at midday!)

While we got a taster in the form of an all night long set at Pacha's Grand Opening Party, Solomun +1 itself begins on Sunday 22 May.

Keeping everybody waiting, the big Slovenian only confirmed his list of +1 guests earlier this week.

2022's opening sees Konstantin Sibold join Solomun in the booth.

For those who have still yet to see it, this is the perfect opportunity to experience Pacha's remodelled dancefloor. The modifications are subtle, but the impact can not be overstated.

Tickets for this Sunday and the rest of summer can be picked up here.

That trio of opening parties are surely going to be big talking points come Monday morning, but of course they aren't the only things happening. Eager to keep pace, those parties that have already begun continue with their summer programme.

Daytime events

WARNING! WARNING! You are about to re-enter the ANTS Invasion - participation is at your own risk. Party favourites Andrea Oliva and Davide Squillace are supported by Danish female duo Anëk at this week's sci-fi instalment.

Like every week, our recommendation is to arrive early, soak up the vibes and enjoy the small stage at the back of the venue before Ushuaïa packs out. Then the main stage opens and you get the full works. It's basically two clubbing experiences in one. Head here for tickets.

Other daytime sessions include the now daily programme at O Beach, which saw an opening for HotBed yesterday and WILDCHILD today. Even if you're already versed in what a day at O Beach involves, its creative team have surpassed themselves with this year's new show.

Very popular Pool Party is back Friday, whilst it's time to board Boat Club on Sunday. However, this weekend is most noted for a headline set on Saturday from the one-and-only Mr Todd Terry. The House music legend plays poolside for Kinky Malinki on 21 May.

Tickets and info for all O Beach's parties can be found here.

Nighttime parties

Those of you who have been keeping tabs on our weekend previews will know the state of play of Defected at Eden (Fridays) and Glitterbox at Hï Ibiza (Sundays) already. Both equate to phenomenal music and busy dancefloors. You can't go wrong with a visit to either.

Why not do both? Many people do for exactly those reasons.

In much the same kind of fashion, the big Saturday night parties that began last weekend, The Masquerade at Pacha and Black Coffee at Hï Ibiza are going to be bankers all summer.

Every day is a party day on Ibiza, but come the weekend even the locals want to paint the town red. For the best price and to guarantee entry, we always recommend buying your tickets in advance. Nobody wants to be outside queueing when you could be inside dancing.

Do you want one final option before we wrap up this week's round-up?

Although it doesn't officially begin until next weekend, we get a sneak preview of Octan's new Sunday night ENCORE on 22 May. German DJ Matthias Tanzmann has top billing, while Paul Woolford, Joey Daniel and Daniel Orpi are also on the card.

Most interestingly of all, Darius Syrossian gets back to The Basement - always great value.

To see everything that's happening day-by-day, head over to our party calendar to get planning and get booking. We will see you on the dancefloor.
