The Pacha Foundation announces support for volunteer network Proyecto Nunca Solos

A grant of €1,000 will help sustain companionship and comfort for patients at Can Misses hospital.

While the club itself has scaled-back to weekend-only openings during the cooler months, Pacha Ibiza redirects much welcomed attention to worthy causes in the community. This week, The Pacha Foundation announced its support for volunteer network Proyecto Nunca Solos.

Translating to "never alone" in English, Proyecto Nunca Solos brings companionship and comfort to patients at Can Misses hospital in Ibiza Town.

For patients spending prolonged periods of treatment and recovery in hospital, the hardest part is not always medical care itself, but the long, lonely and tedious hours in between.

Founded in 2018, Proyecto Nunca Solos has a purpose: to ensure that patients do not have to face these moments alone.

Entirely reliant on private donations, the self-funded initiative depends on the generosity of local businesses and foundations to sustain its twice-weekly visits. Once there, its volunteers distribute books, cards, board games and, most perhaps most importantly, an open-ear.

Around twenty volunteers form the network, spending time with patients in the Internal Medicine and Traumatology departments.

They play games, bring books directly to patients through a mobile cart and, for those with limited to no mobility, simply sit beside them and chat. Their presence also provides respite to exhausted family members, providing reassurance their loved one has company in their absence.

These gestures may seem small, but their impact is invaluable.

The Pacha Foundation's grant of €1,000 will help meet the practical needs that make this work possible.

Through its support for Proyecto Nunca Solos, it's helping to sustain a service built on the fundamental belief that care extends beyond medical treatment alone, and that no one should have to navigate their most difficult days without human connection.
