Whilst best known for its vibrant clubbing scene, Ibiza is also a top destination for families to retreat to in the summer. Who says you can't combine both? If you fancy taking the kids to check out some of the island's fun-filled parties, you have more choice than you think.
We have rounded up some fantastic parties, live music venues and beach clubs on Ibiza which promise to play host to some of the most cherished family memories. Here's what's on offer.
Parties and Events
Although under 18 year-olds will have to wait a few years before entering Ibiza's famous super-clubs, some truly wonderful parties around the island welcome youngsters to join in for a dance.
With this selection of exciting parties, you won't hear the kids say the dreaded words "I'm bored." We've listed the ones the whole family will enjoy.
Storytellers and WooMooN | Cova Santa | Selected Fridays & Sundays
Inviting us on a fantastical adventure are the strange and most wonderful LunArts' parties Storytellers and Woomoon.
Unique outdoor party destination Cova Santa hosts these magical experience where adults are not the only ones encouraged to let their imaginations run wild.
The carnivalesque goings-on promise to be full multi-sensory illusion of light, music, dance, art and more. With actors and dancers dressed head to toe in crazy attire it only seems right to join in so why not stop by the on-site face painting station?
The children will love becoming part of the fantasy land before them. Adults will also be captivated by the creative flair of these parties and revel in the stunning views of the rolling hills.
There are seven more Woomoon dates to chose from in summer 2022 and over a dozen Storytellers.
Children are welcome to join the outside section of the parties at Cova Santa with entry before 21:00 and can stay until 23:00. Under 15s get free admission, but those older must have a ticket (Ibiza Spotlight doesn't sell tickets for under 18 year-olds). All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Namasté, Ethereal, Nido & The Gardens of Babylon | Las Dalias
Whilst best known for its authentic hippy markets during the day, Las Dalias also has amazing nightlife. In fact, it's Ibiza's oldest music venue. Nestled in the north of Ibiza, the open-air dancefloor offers everything from to live acoustic performances to electronic music.
While Las Dalias now has it's own onsite club, Akasha (which is strictly 18+ only), it's the parties that start in the afternoon outside that allow children of all ages up to midnight. These parties include longstanding promotions Namasté and Ethereal, in-house Sunday Nido and the monthly The Gardens of Babylon.
These festivals of culture express freedom through music and other art forms. The party holds a strong heritage grounded into the musical roots of Ibiza and a welcoming ethos that encourages all ages to join the party. Las Dalias is child-friendly as long as an adult is present.
Children of the 80s | Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza | Fridays
From ABBA tribute acts to golden oldie tunes from the likes of CeCe Rogers and Rozalla, Children of the 80s is the party to hear all of your favourite throwbacks. Dance to the classic feel-good sounds every Friday until 30 September at Playa d'en Bossa's Hard Rock Hotel.
Children over 16 are welcome when accompanied by an adult. So dust off your shoulder pads and dig out your best neon leg warmers because it's time to show these teens how their parents partied back in the day. Oh yes.
Restaurants and beach clubs
There are many lovely family-friendly restaurants and beach clubs where you can enjoy a slice of the famous White Isle coast during the day then some fantastic musical talent by night. Here are just a few on offer.
528 Garden | Benimussa Hills
528 Ibiza is the new theatrical and fine-dining concept from Pikes' Andy McKay and landowner Bartolo Escandell, located in the rolling, pine-covered hills just outside San Antonio. The indoor restaurant and show takes place from 21:00 to midnight and is strictly adults only.
However, new for 2022, outdoor area 528 Garden opens at 19:55 from Wednesday through to Sunday. Children are welcomed to this free alfresco affair, that features a mixture of live musicians, DJ sets and a little bit of theatrics thrown into the mix.
Sunset Strip | San Antonio
Scattered along the iconic Sunset Strip are an array of exciting free admission bars and restaurants which come alive in the evenings with live music. Each one boasts sublime views of the famous golden sunset, so a trip here makes for a lovely addition to the holiday schedule.
Places such as Café Del Mar and Café Mambo offer live DJ sets every night under the glow of the stunning sunset. Both are restaurants by day but by night bring in a friendly crowd of music-lovers to see top names in dance music take to the decks.
You can choose to pre-book a table so you and the family can enjoy the music from afar with a nice meal and drinks or simply stroll along to join everyone in the dancing on the pathway outside.
Elsewhere on the boardwalk, there's Savannahs, Monkey, Wi-Ki-Woo and loads more places to choose from, whether you seek a more laid back ambience or somewhere with pumping music.
Tanit Beach Bar | Playa D'en Bossa
Tanit Beach Ibiza rests on the golden shores of Playa d'en Bossa as a divine restaurant in international cuisine. During the day you can recline on the beach beds sipping one of their delightful choices of cocktails listening to dreamy chill-out tunes.
A handful of dance-orientated events take place each summer, but no matter when you pop to Tanit Beach Bar, is never short on good vibes and good music. The beach club incudes a children's play area and other activities to keep them entertained.
Aiyanna Ibiza | Cala Nova Beach
If boho chic by the beach tickles your fancy then Aiyanna Ibiza is the beach club for you. A proud pioneer in eco-conscious practices serving up home-grown, organic food, this forward-thinking beach bar and restaurant has a lot to offer.
After a day spent indulging in the wealthy menu of traditional dishes with a modern flair, darkness falls and the party comes alive. Live music and art exhibitions will often make up the night's entertainment.
A popular party every year at Aiyanna is the Full Moon party which involves a delicious fine-dining experience with live music all under the moonlit sky. Whilst there has already been a Full Moon celebration back in July, Aiyanna often hosts an end of season edition so keep an eye out for more information to come.
Elements Beach Bar | Cala Benirras
During the day traditional Mediterranean dishes are served at Elements with a side of deep electronic music in the background. Once the sun sets the party gets into full swing. Various live music events take place during the week.
Elements is worth checking out if you and the family fancy something a little different and more authentic. Visit Benirras on Fridays and Sundays to experience the famous live drumming sessions that take place on the beach.
No matter what age you are, Ibiza has something to offer something. It's part of what makes a holiday here so special.
