Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk into MANUMISSION at the height of Ibiza’s ’90s madness? Well, you're about to get pretty close....
Derived from the Latin word for "freedom from slavery", MANUMISSION evoked hedonism and realising your inhibitions like few parties before it or since. Years have rolled by, by that's exactly the memo original party instigators Mike & Claire are bringing back at the end of this month.
MANUMISSION takes over 528 Ibiza from 17:00 to 05:00 on Saturday 26 September, with five stages turning the venue into one giant, surreal trip back to 1998.
Things start at the Grand Park Stage, where the legendary Manumission Motel gets rebuilt as a three-storey theatrical playground.
From dancers, drag queens, acrobats and plenty of beautifully bizarre characters, the action is inspired by the memoir The Motel: High Times in 90s Ibiza. It’s part theatre, part nightclub and, by the sounds of it, chaos is likely to reign.
Over at the Garden Stage, things get steamy. Hellfire in the Hong Kong Hot Tub brings bubbles, blue lights and bathhouse antics, with go-go boys, drag performers and Manumission Girls taking over. Carl Craig will be on soundtrack duty, bringing Detroit Techno into the mix.
The Forest Stage heads in a different direction. Ibiza queer collective XTRA is taking over with Bedroom Bondage à la Japonaise, nodding to MANUMISSION's roots in Manchester’s gay underbelly while putting the spotlight on the island’s next generation of queer artists.

Teatro becomes Le Theatre Pink Pussy - a surreal New York strip club, complete with towering heels, bodies on bars and performances around the dancefloor. David Morales will play a six hour set, taking things back to the spirit of Paradise Garage.
Finally, the Club becomes Roger More's Dark Room -a mischievous late-night space curated by Pikes' very own Nick Sheehy.
