For teenagers, who are on the road to full autonomy but still don’t have the necessary number of birthdays under their belt, the closed club doors can feel like a frustration. However, staying active, entertained, and independent is easy in Ibiza, with countless opportunities to explore the island’s great outdoors, embark on adventures, and, of course, tap into the party scene.

🌅 Music and magic on the Sunset Strip
Watching the sun dip below the horizon from San Antonio’s world-renowned Sunset Strip is a rite of passage for all holidaymakers. As golden hour sets in, the long stretch of promenade comes alive with the sights and sounds of Balearic House beats and revellers beginning their night's adventures.
Follow the tunes floating through the evening breeze, and you’ll likely land outside Café Mambo. Every night is party night here, as the island's clubs host their pre-parties, and you’ll often find Fatboy Slim, Hannah Wants, or Danny Howard bringing the party to the promenade. Get there before sunset to grab a front row spot on the walkway, and you’ll soon shake any feelings of clubbing FOMO!
If you fancy your own moment with the nightly spectacle, grab a seat on pretty much any sandy shore around San Antonio and the San Antonio Bay area. Sunset here just has a way of creating an Ibiza vibe that's intoxicating, but without the booze.
💃🏽 Free ways to rave
Yes, free! And the party invite is open to all ages. Across the summer, local councils put on free events, bringing a festival feel to the beaches and town areas.
In early July in San Antonio, Ibiza Global Festival runs a two-day open-air beach party with huge-name artists. La Movida in August is a throwback festival, with 80s and 90s tracks boomed across the beach.
In June and September, Chinois Ibiza leads two portside mini-festivals in the Ibiza Town port area. You’ll often see Luciano and Solomun headlining these, and the crowds turn up ready to rave.
There’s no age limit here, so parents may want to join themselves. We suggest setting up a time and meeting place, and then getting yourself lost in the crowd.

🏖️ Beach vibes
Ibiza truly does have some of the best beaches in the world, so make sure to play on the playa and get your toes sandy during your trip.
Just a short car ride from Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza Town lies Las Salinas Beach. With over a mile of soft sands, it has a real vibe. Here, there’s a vibrant row of popular bars and restaurants with live DJs whose sun-kissed House beats turn the beach into a sandy dancefloor. You’re also likely to see parades for parties such as Flower Power and ANTS winding through the crowds, only amping up the energy.
We suggest parking up with a picnic outside Sa Trinxa, and creating your own free beach party. Pedalos can be hired from near here, or a little further along; the Salinas Sailing Club rents paddle boards and kayaks. If you have some experience, you can master a small dinghy for the afternoon.
If you’re staying around San Antonio and the San Antonio Bay area, then you have an incredible selection of beaches and bays to explore. All with their own energy and vibe. With just a few minutes' stroll between each, you can beach hop for the afternoon until you find your favourite.
A little further on Ibiza’s west coast, Cala Bassa and Cala Tarida are both stunners, with glass-clear waters to swim in. Just down the coast, Cala Conta boasts two beautiful beach areas split by the famous Sunset Cala Conta. It’s a lively restaurant and you’ll often find the tunes floating onto the beach and creating a buzzy vibe.
You can reach Cala Bassa, Cala Tarida, and Cala Conta easily from San Antonio by catching a bus from the town's central bus station, or on one of the many taxi-boats from the port. Just pack some snacks and wave adios to your parents from the port.
For a chauffeur-driven experience to these west coast beaches, Beach Hop Cruise’s smooth-gliding catamarans depart from San Antonio and are a fun way to experience the west coast beaches, serving swim stops, snacks and drinks along the way. In fact, this experience can be enjoyed without any adults ruining the fun; as long as you're age 14+, you can set sail solo.
🛍️ Markets, music, and shopping
If you want more than just a fridge magnet to remember your trip by, then San Antonio and Santa Eulalia have a great collection of clothes shops and local boutiques. Ibiza Town is the fashion leader for high-street pieces, or to snag the island's independent designers' latest trends. The port area and winding lanes are filled with stalls and enticing doors that lead to incredible finds.
If meandering the markets is more your vibe, then Punta Arabí, held every Wednesday in Es Caná, is a glimpse into the island's hippy history. Crammed with over 400 stalls, you are bound to find something special to mark your trip. It also features a tasty talent of street food stalls, and brilliant live music throughout the day.
Still up North, but this time just beside the cute village of San Carlos, the weekend market at Las Dalias is a firm favourite with islanders and visitors. It still oozes the original free-spirited Ibiza energy, which is only amplified by its early evening parties. Namaste on Wednesdays and Nido on a Sunday feature live acoustic and hypnotic DJ sets, and welcome under-18s until the garden shuts at 23:00.

⛵️🛶 Wild watersports and adventure activities
It's not all party, party in Ibiza. For thrillseekers and adventurists, there are plenty of fun ways to get your blood pumping and break a sweat.
Go off-road with Ibiza Jeep Tours and follow the winding dirt tracks to island treasures such as a historic pirate lookout tower or Ibiza’s abandoned Festival Club. If you don’t mind some adult company, then Hasha Ibiza offers some of the coolest two-wheeled rides on the island. Just download the app, load your route and explore at your own pace. Teenagers will need a responsible adult to join them for the adventure, but at least you can blame them if you get lost.
If you don’t mind getting wet and feeling the wind in your hair, then Jet Ski Ibiza Es Vedrà Tours make exploring Ibiza’s rugged west coast even more unforgettable, or take it at a slower pace on this SUP and snorkeling boat trip, with local experts who know the best beauty spots within reach by stand-up paddleboard.
There's also a fantastic selection of boat trips around the coast of both Ibiza and Formentera, where you can catch sun rays as you feel the open-sea breeze in your hair. Some of these will allow under-18s onto the boat without an adult; double-check with the provider before making your booking.
🏝️ Explore Formentera
Spend the day living your best life on Ibiza’s stunning sister island, Formentera. Its beaches are consistently ranked amongst the best in the world and are perfect for those jealousy-inducing photos. Kick back and build that golden glow or dip your head and fish-spot with a snorkel; either way, pure paradise awaits.
If you’re up for a little adventure, then hiring a bicycle is one of the best ways to shake off the sand and explore the island’s many beauty spots. Look out for Moto Rent Pujols’ kiosk at the ferry terminal to hire your pedal-pushed crusader and begin your adventure.
Getting there - and back - is super smooth. From the central Ibiza Town port, you can catch one of the low-cost Aquabus that depart and return every couple of hours. The port is easy to locate, so parents can wave you off and collect you easily afterwards to hear about your island escapades. If you’re staying in Playa d’en Bossa, or Figueretas, there are also regular scheduled ferries that go from here.

🍽️ Fun to have with Mum and Dad
If you’re ready to extend the invitation to Mum and Dad, and ask them to pay for the privilege, then there are some great venues, beachside and rooftop, that know how to rock any reservation.
Tanit Beach Club in Playa d'en Bossa has weekend parties that provide a musical backdrop for both restaurant diners and beachfront loungers. Their Sunday service, 'Escucha', takes the classic Sunday roast to a whole new level.
Next door, Nassau Beach Club offers a similar beachfront experience. Its standout party is on Saturday night, when the restaurant is sent back in time for its Flower Party. Old school tracks, hippies, and peace and love all around.
Smack bang in the centre of Playa d'en Bossa, the Tomorrowland Rooftop Terrace is a buzzing venue that actually covers two important bases: music and shopping. Yes, after you've perused the store to see what merchandise takes your eye, take a few steps outside to the rooftop terrace. Here, you can relax with a chilled beverage as international DJs encourage the crowd to not only shimmy in their chair, but rise to their feet for a dance.
In the bay of San Antonio, Kumharas is a firm family favourite, with epic sunsets and a buzzing terrace. It’s worth diving into their street food market menu and mocktails whilst you’re here.
In San Antonio, Bam-Bu-Ku Ibiza is laying on a very special series of events in August specifically for ten-to sixteen-year-olds. Held on 1, 8, 15 and 22 August, from 19:30, You Got The Love will offer great music, a fantastic atmosphere, and your first step into the Ibiza party scene. Adults and younger siblings are welcome to relax in a separate area in the venue, allowing you to have fun in your own dedicated party zone.

🚍 Getting around the island
While you want as much independence as possible, the taxi of Mum and Dad may have to be used on occasion. However, while they are out enjoying themselves without their children, there are many routes of transport to get you smoothly from A to B.
