In the lovely wide Bay of San Antonio you're never far from a beach; five small ones are within short walking distance from either end. In fact a favourite way to start - or end - the day, is a stroll along the shoreline path connecting the beaches that all have bars open 'til late.

Each small beach has its own character and atmosphere, so you may like to try a couple of them before deciding which is your favourite.

From the Bay you can also take a ferry to one of the nearby beaches, such as Cala Conta or Cala Bassa. They depart hourly from many landing points along the bay and from San Antonio marina.

As you walk around the bay from San Antonio the first small beach you come to is Es Pouet. It's a sweep of fine golden sand and shallow water that is perfect for children to play safely in. Well served by three snack bars, and across the road you'll find a further selection of bars and shops. A ferry boat service operates to San Antonio and other beaches.

Spotlight tip: The small jetty is a great place from which to fish...or, if you prefer, to feed them bread!

A short walk further on brings you to another small beach which has some beach bars overlooking the bay.

After walking along the main street of San Antonio Bay away from San Antonio you finally reach Port d'es Torrent, a popular beach at the end of the resort. In fact, it does not really belong to the Bay of San Antonio itself, it is just around the corner, facing west.

The bay is a deep inlet into the coast, so the waters are tranquil and safe for swimming. The golden sand is fine grained and declines very gently into the sea, the water is crystal clear, perfect for diving and snorkelling. A few hotels border the beach, but also a pine wooded area and rocks for scrambling, which gives it a nice natural atmosphere.

Spotlight tip: Nearby the beach is the Seaview Country Club hotel with a great water park, which is also open to non-hotel guests.
