Getting there: There is no need to stress about bus or boat timetables, since it is only a 15-minute walk (approx 2km) from the centre of San Antonio. Otherwise, during the summer season from May to October there is easy bus access from San Antonio (find timetables here) and small ferry boats go there from San Antonio harbour as well. Limited parking is available near Cala Gració: clients of the restaurant El Chiringuito can park at the restaurant's parking for free.
The beach
Situated within walking distance of San Antonio, Cala Gració features delicate sand and pristine water, meaning it's likely you'll visit it more than once. The development of several five-star hotels nearby has meant that the beach has undergone an upgrade. This is reflected, for example, in the evolution of the beach bar, Cala Gració chiringuito, whose cuisine is capable of pleasing the most discerning gourmand.
It is the perfect beach for children thanks to its easy access, the presence of a lifeguard, and the absence of extreme waves or currents. The beach itself is a slightly unusual shape, opening up from a narrow beginning to much wider as you approach the sea. When sea and sand is not enough for the kids, there is a pleasant coastal path leading to Cala Gracioneta for exploring together. For the more adventurous types, the rocky areas also provide a good spot for snorkeling.
Tip: A short walk around the line of the coast from Cala Gració and you find Cala Gracioneta, a tiny beach with all the charm of its bigger neighbour.
Beach bars and restaurants
There is a beach bar on the sand to the rear of the cove that serves refreshments, drinks and snacks from midday till 21:00. Away from the beach, there are also a couple of restaurants nearby. And, in nearby Cala Gracioneta, there is another good beach restaurant.
