Location: Two km north of San Antonio
Getting there: There is no need to stress about bus or boat timetables, since the beaches are only a 15-minute walk (approx two km) from the centre of San Antonio. Otherwise, during the summer season from May to October, there is easy bus access from San Antonio (find timetables here). Small ferry boats go there from San Antonio harbour as well. Limited parking is available in a car park behind Cala Gració; in Cala Gracioneta, clients of the restaurant can park at the restaurant's small car park for free.

Cala Gració beach

Situated within walking distance of San Antonio, Cala Gració features golden sand and pristine water, meaning it's likely you'll visit it more than once.

It is the perfect beach for children thanks to its easy access, the presence of a lifeguard, and the absence of extreme waves or currents. The beach itself is a slightly unusual shape, opening up from a narrow beginning to much wider as you approach the sea. The water is enclosed with pretty rocks and trees, with rustic fishermen's huts built into the small cliffside.

The water shimmers in all shades of blue and turquoise, and the rocky areas on both sides provide good spots for snorkeling. Sunset hour here is particularly beautiful, along with its smaller sister cove, Cala Gracioneta, and attracts many people to the beach and by boat to experience it.

Cala Gracioneta beach

Facilities: Day beds, restaurant
Size: 30 metres long, 20 metres wide

A pleasant coastal path leads to the tiny neighbouring cove of Cala Gracioneta, which has similarly soft, golden sand and crystal clear water. To reach here from Cala Gració beach, look for the stone staircase that's just by the fishermen's huts, follow this up and then around the small cliff edge. Although just a moment's walk, sensible shoes with grips are advised, especially if walking with children.

The entire rear of the beach is taken up by a popular restaurant and its sunbeds that lead onto the beach. It is the perfect spot for a lazy lunch or a sundowner. Look out for famous faces, especially DJs, who often frequent here throughout the summer.

The water here is equally as beautiful as its big sister next door, making this small cove a popular location from the early morning hours. Make sure to arrive early to get a spot on the sand.

Beach bars and restaurants

There is a beach bar and restaurant at the rear of Cala Gració, where you can sit directly on the beach with your toes in the sand. They also offer service to the sunbeds, if you want more of a relaxed experience. There are other restaurants on the road that lead down towards the beach, around a ten-minute walk.

In nearby Cala Gracioneta, there is a popular, more upmarket, beach restaurant with seating over different levels and sunbeds on the sand.

You are advised to make early reservations for both restaurants, especially around sunset hours.

There are no shops directly on either beach, but the nearby town of San Antonio offers many places to pick up cold drinks and snacks for your day.
