Masked Claptone is one of the most elusive DJs on the international circuit.
Despite his larger-than-life persona, most of what we know about him is rooted in speculation rather than fact. Therefore, Chinois Ibiza's Saturday night host was a curious subject for our favourite things to do on Ibiza series. But we were approaching it from the wrong angle...
Other superstar entertainers have to hire security teams, book out entire restaurant floors or get waiting staff to sign NDAs. Claptone being incognito, means he can enjoy all the spoils the island has to offer, without worry about being noticed and hassled to pose for selfies on his downtime.
No wonder he was able to submit one of our favourite entries into the series yet.

Morning coffee, breakfast & lunch
You’ll rarely find me at the obvious spots. One place I keep coming back to is Meke Café in Santa
Gertrudis. Great coffee, excellent food and a relaxed local crowd that captures the creative side of Ibiza.
For lunch, Juntos House (pictured above) is hard to beat. It combines great produce, a beautiful setting and a genuine farm-to-table philosophy that reflects a different side of the island. It’s the kind of place that reminds you Ibiza isn't only about parties.

Island activity
For me, the best way to experience Ibiza is to leave the schedule behind for a few hours and explore the island beyond the clubs. I love wandering through Dalt Vila early in the evening when the crowds start to thin out.
The history, the views over the harbour and the little hidden streets remind you that Ibiza has a soul that runs far deeper than its nightlife.

Another favourite is taking a boat over to Formentera. Even after all these years, arriving at those crystal-clear waters never gets old. Renting a small boat and discovering quiet coves around the island is one of the most magical ways to spend a day here.
One thing I’d recommend to anyone visiting the island is simply getting lost in the north.

Some of my favourite memories come from discovering tiny roadside restaurants, hidden viewpoints and beaches that weren't part of any plan. Ibiza always rewards curiosity.
The island has changed over the years, but its magic still lives in those unexpected moments
between destinations. Sometimes the best experiences aren't the ones that you book - it’s the one you stumble across by chance.

Afternoon beach
Cala Comte (pictured above) is legendary for a reason. The water almost looks unreal. Even after countless visits, it still manages to surprise me. If you arrive outside the busiest hours, it’s one of the most beautiful places on the island to switch off for a few hours.
For something a little quieter, I also love Cala d’en Serra in the north. It feels a world away from the energy of Ibiza Town and is perfect when you need a bit of peace before a busy night.

Sunset dinner
Es Boldadó is one of those places that feels like a secret, even though many locals know it well. Perched on the cliffs overlooking Es Vedrà, it offers one of the most spectacular sunset views on the island.
Watching the sun disappear behind Es Vedrà while sharing fresh seafood is Ibiza at its finest.
For a more relaxed evening, El Silencio (pictured above) at Cala Molí has become a favourite. Beautiful setting, great atmosphere and one of those places where lunch can easily turn into dinner without anyone noticing.

Party spot
I’ve played many incredible clubs around the world, but right now Chinois Ibiza has a very special
energy. It’s intimate, immersive and puts the focus back on the connection between DJ and crowd. In a world of ever-bigger venues, there’s something refreshing about a room that feels
personal. That’s exactly why The Masquerade found its new home there.
Every Saturday, the atmosphere feels theatrical, unpredictable and deeply connected to what Ibiza nightlife is really about: losing yourself in the music together.
Some great recommendations from an artist who clearly knows the island very well. That just goes to prove, you really don't necessarily know when you could be sitting next to one of the biggest DJs on the planet.
Below, you can find tickets and line-ups to all remaining parties in the schedule for Claptone presents The Masquerade or by visiting our party calendar.
