DJ and saxophonist duo and full-time Ibiza residents Laura & Santiago are a regular fixture at the island's clubs, frequently performing together at places such as 528 Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks and Pikes.
The couple met here in 2007, got engaged later that same year and have been together ever since - a true Ibiza love story for the ages!
After a few months sidelined due to Laura recovering from a broken wrist, the husband and wife team are ready to get back into the booth and start entertaining again.
With their new single out today and as they prepare for another run of six consecutive Tuesdays playing at Café Mambo, Laura & Santiago give us their island recommendations.
Morning coffee
We are both coffee lovers and quite fussy when it comes to a cup of brain juice!
The Spanish generally do a great coffee, but the top two spots we’ve found in Ibiza are either Melbourne Street Coffee in San Antonio or Gertrudis Bagel House in Santa Gertrudis. Both are incredible and highly recommended!
Favourite beach
You will find Cala Vadella on most people’s 'favourite Ibiza beach' list and we are very blessed to say it is our local beach!
There are only a handful of restaurants down there, but our favourite spot is Bon Sol - an incredible Italian. It’s an authentic spot that serves great pizzas and pastas, overlooking the beautiful beach. What more could you want?
Evening meal
We’ve gone off the high-end restaurants of late. Some are amazing, but at others we’ve had too many recent experiences where the food and service has not lived up to the prices. Therefore we’ve been drawn to the more authentic places.
Our favourite place for dinner at the moment is a no-thrills restaurant that just serves incredible food at honest prices. It’s called Kitchen 62 and it’s a gourmet burger restaurant just a few hundred meters away from Kumharas.
They dry-age their meat themselves (they also ask you how you want it cooked), and they keep winning the award for the best burger in the Balearic Islands. Their homemade desserts are also insanely good!
Go for the Brooklyn Burger which is their award winning burger. We’ve tried every single one on the menu, and the Brooklyn is your guy!
Party spot
This is a tough one for obvious reasons, but we’ve been having the most fun this summer at Pikes and 528 Ibiza.
We always say it’s the people that makes the party and both of these venues seem to attract the very best people that Ibiza has to offer. They both give a very authentic Ibiza experience. This combined with their no-phones policy makes for a guaranteed night of magic!
