Grime legend turned House DJ, Skepta, has got a new flex and he locks down Hï Ibiza's Club Room for Más Tiempo's first season-long Ibiza residency.
Landing this high-profile gig from makes him the perfect foil to Black Coffee's banged-out Theatre on Saturday nights from 2 May to 3 October.
Conceived as a creative platform to explore new textures within contemporary House music, Más Tiempo mirrors the other side of Skepta's musical universe: warm grooves, vibey energy and a vision embedded in the collective dancefloor experience.
An accomplished mixer even back in the day, the North London lyricist pivoted from rap to club beats in the post-pandemic era and hasn't looked back since.
In that time, he has guested at all of the major Ibiza parties, while Más Tiempo was regularly deployed to support Carl Cox in the Wild Comet at [UNVRS] last term. This feels a lot more official, as well as more responsibility: a higher capacity and big boots to fill.
Speculation had been rife as to who would take the honour, following Damian Lazarus publicly stating he would not be returning to the role.
Skepta won't be present on every single date, but will be front and centre for the most part. You can expect the likes of Jammer, DJammin and other Más Tiempo affiliates to plug the gaps, as well as support Skep on other dates. The full line-up is still awaiting publication.
In an off-season of groundbreaking firsts, where Hï Ibiza has already delivered a historic all-woman team of residents on Sunday night, the applause must continue. Now we also have a team exclusively of Black artists looking after the biggest night of the week. Respect.
Tickets for all dates are on sale now. Black Coffee's party is amongst Ibiza's most popular, and we're in no doubt that nothing will change in that respect this year, especially with this latest announcement.
