Party preview | BBC Radio 1 Dance at 528 Ibiza

Friday 31 July.

About BBC Radio 1 Dance Ibiza

Since the summer of 1995, BBC Radio 1 has touched down annually on the Spanish party island of Ibiza. Conceived by veteran broadcaster Pete Tong, the legendary weekender has become an institution which shows no signs of slowing down given it has been going for over thirty years.

Taking place in peak summer, with school, college and university holidays well underway, the island is already firing on all cylinders, the temperature is at its hottest and the dancefloors at their craziest.

Just like every summer, the weekend spans multiple locations, but the pinnacle is definitely the outdoor festival-like experience at 528 Ibiza, close to the party resort of San Antonio on the island's west coast.

When?

16:00 - 23:00 on Friday 31 July only

Where?

528 Ibiza
Carrer del Romaní, 18, Sant Antoni de Portmany, 07820 Open in Google Maps

528 Ibiza is located on the outskirts of San Antonio, close to the residential area of Ses Païsses. The immediate area has a handful of local bars and small restaurants, but a fraction of the choice compared to the thriving San Antonio nearby.

Due to its location in a residential area, driving is largely discouraged.

Who?

528 Ibiza | Benimussa Hills

Josh Baker

- mastermind behind Hide & Seek Festival in the UK
- owner of You&Me and Baker's Dozen record labels
- sold out the first month of his Amnesia residency, five weeks in a row

Josh Baker really is the man of the moment. He is dominating Ibiza in 2026, selling out every date of his Amnesia residency, guesting at other parties and popping up in the most unlikely of places for unannounced after parties. That's how you do it!

Radio 1 always moves heaven and earth to secure the biggest names. Since 2022, it has bought CAMELPHAT, Sonny Fodera, Jamie Jones, Max Dean, Becky Hill, Ben Hemsley, Hannah Laing and The Martinez Brothers to the Benimussa Hills - and now it's done it again. What a coup!

As well as Josh and a yet to be revealed special guest, you can bank on the full R1 Dance family to be present, including Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Sarah Story, Arielle Free and Charlie Hedges. Past years have seen the on-air talents play back-to-back.

There's another important element to all this - the real stars of the show: the crowd.

BBC Radio 1's annual pilgrimage is a rite of passage for Radio 1's young listener base. For many of them, this will be their first experience of Ibiza - and what an introduction. There's a reason why this is the busiest weekend of the summer.

  • free shuttle bus service to and from the venue for ticket holders - no need to pay extra for taxis
  • hot food options available on-site
  • broadcast live to the nation back home with all of the R1 Dance family in tow - make your friends and loved ones back home insanely jealous

Also worth knowing:
In addition to 528 Ibiza, Radio 1 also stops at Hï Ibiza afterwards for Dom Dolla's party, Ushuaïa on Saturday daytime for its annual ANTS link-up and Carl Cox's party at [UNVRS] on Sunday night. You can find tickets and further details by clicking here.

Top tip: This party takes place at the height of summer. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks to the chill out zones to recharge, before returning to the dancefloor. Despite what you may have been told, neither eating nor sleeping is "cheating". In fact, both are essential. Don't over do it.
