Cabaret, club and fine-dining hotspot Lío Ibiza sizzles on opening night

Spectacularrr scenes at the open-air boudoir.

Lío Ibiza truly carves out its own niche on the island. It offers an experience that defies an easy description. Think other-worldy cabaret meets contemporary banquet dining, in a setting that simply can’t be found anywhere else. Yup, I’m not sure anyone can replicate it at this point.

Whether it be a birthday celebration, anniversary, or you’re looking for that special place to spend an evening on your trip to Ibiza, Lío does it right and doesn’t cut any corners when doing so.

I experienced its one-of-a-kind magic for the first time last week with an exclusive invitation to its Opening Party to welcome the 2025 season, and I’m taking you with me.

Lío Ibiza really puts attention to detail with their brand new 2025 show, Spectacularrr. Under the visionary direction of Joan Gràcia and Pol Chamorro, five different universes came to life on stage right before our very eyes: Circus, Cinema, Savage, Dark, and Disco. And after experiencing it firsthand, I can confirm that spectacular it was.

Upon arrival, we were escorted to an exclusive two-seater table, offering breathtaking views of Dalt Vila, the shimmering marina waters, and Lío’s epic moving pool stage. Feeling like true VIPS and surrounded by such beauty, I knew a special night was ahead.

With the addition of Andreu Genestra as the group’s new culinary director, the evening kicked off with a beautifully curated selection of aperitifs served just as the first show began. It was a feast for both the eyes and the tastebuds, with something happening at every moment.

If we weren’t enjoying the food, we were being captivated by the performances that ran like clockwork. Throughout it all, the attentive staff made sure we were perfectly looked after us cocktails at our beck and call.

A variety of mouthwatering main courses including both meat and seafood dishes soon followed. We opted to share a few dishes - succulent chicken with roasted potatoes paired with steamed vegetables, and tender sea bass in a savory onion gravy.

As we tucked in, the five themes began to unfold as performances seamlessly tied into one another. Cinematic moments from pirates to mermaids, flamenco, cowboys, and even a military-inspired segment at one point. Each transition flowed effortlessly.

There wasn’t a moment that there wasn’t something jaw-dropping going on from each angle.

From scintilating solo and group dance performances, stage shaking flamenco, powerhouse vocal performances, feats of incredible acrobatic athletecism and dazzling pyrotechnic displays - to say you get your money’s worth would seem an understatement.

The night’s soundtrack encompassed an array of classics, borrowing heavily from the 90s and noughties, mixed with medleys from old school favourites and hits from Robbie Williams, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, ABBA, and the Pussycat Dolls.

There was something for everyone.

Three hours of entertainment and top-tier cuisine flew by, and although we were full, we couldn’t resist sharing a charming-looking cheesecake and a sorbet, served as a ball-shaped mango with a rich chocolate biscuit centre.

A definite takeaway from the evening is that the new menu is sure to delight even the most discerning palates, blending the essence of the Mediterranean with innovative, contemporary touches and rich flavours.

An explosive cocktail of emotions, energy, originality, sensuality, and provocation was explored that night. Everything from the service, the talent that the performers hold, to the full culinary experience, all five senses were more than satisfied after our evening at Lío.
