After reaching a new long-term lease agreement with the owners of their beautiful countryside home, Ibiza Cricket Club has laid out plans to improve facilities, strengthen partnerships and reshape how the club runs itself.
The focus of much of the discussion at an Extraordinary General Meeting was the club’s ground at San Lorenzo. New investment will soon see long-overdue improvements, with two new changing rooms planned, both fitted with showers, along with new toilet facilities. An outdoor kitchen is also part of the project, giving players and supporters a more comfortable place to gather on match days and turning the ground into a more sociable space overall.

Work will also take place on the pitch. A new irrigation system is set to be installed to help improve playing conditions across the season, while plans for an electric scoreboard aim to modernise the matchday setup and make games easier to follow for players and spectators alike.
Away from the boundary, the club confirmed encouraging news on the commercial side. Reebok has been named as the club’s official kit manufacturer, while the luxury four-star hotel in Cala Llonga, Hyde Ibiza, will appear as playing shirt sponsor for the coming season. The new agreements give the club a welcome boost and reflect its growing profile as it continues to build year on year.

The EGM also marked a shift in how the club is organised behind the scenes. A streamlined committee structure has been introduced, with the aim of keeping leadership clear, practical and responsive. Robin Parmenter remains in place as Chairman, providing continuity at a time of change. Rick Plews continues as Membership Secretary, a role in which his work has helped maintain and grow the club’s playing and social base.
Martin Makepeace has taken on the position of General Secretary, while Antonio Barca joins the committee as Head of Development, underlining the club’s intention to think long-term about structure and progression.
One of the most notable changes sees Lyn Carpenter step down from her role as Treasurer, with Jonathan Dudding stepping into the position.
Lyn’s contribution was formally recognised at the meeting, with the club appointing her as Honorary Life President in recognition of her years of commitment and hard work. She will remain closely involved, continuing to oversee matchday operations and lending her experience to the running of the club.
Looking ahead, members were also told to expect the appointment of a new, high-profile Club Captain before the start of the upcoming season. The role is expected to play an important part in shaping the team on the field as the club prepares for the challenges ahead.
Taken as a whole, the announcements from the EGM point to a period of steady but meaningful progress for Ibiza Cricket Club. With improvements planned at San Lorenzo, new commercial partners in place and a refreshed committee structure, the club moves into the new season with clear intentions and a sense of momentum both on and off the pitch.
