Time and again, Jayda G has proven her versatility and uncanny ability to ignite any dancefloor.
Whether bricks and mortar appearances for the likes of Glitterbox, or virtual streams with powerhouse platforms Boiler Room and Mixmag Lab, she always guarantees energy. Even if your experience is via a feed through a screen.
After numerous successful singles and EPs, her discography has also become nothing short of impressive, helping her to amass a global fanbase. When the opportunity came to see her light up Pacha Ibiza as part of Sonny Fodera's residency, there was no hesitation from us.
We knew this was going to be a set worth catching.
Taking over from Jazzy at 01:30, Jayda G wasted no time in stamping her signature sound on the room. Let it be known, she's got a real knack for weaving in and out of genres. It's during those shifts that her personality as a DJ really shines through.
Her set was a seamless blend of House, Disco and funky soulful rhythms, with Pacha's faultless sound system delivering the pristine warmth and punch it's known for.
Every transition felt natural yet exciting. Each track built on the last to create a journey that kept everyone locked-in from start to finish.
Her love contrasts were no more apparent than when she dropped some chunky Jackin' House, followed by the uplifting piano chords of Avision's Read My Mind. This sent a wave of euphoria over the dancefloor, and was quickly followed by one of her very own tunes.
Fresh from release only last month, The Shiver is another bouncy, piano-led House cut that felt tailor-made for Pacha's dancefloor.
It has to be said, Jayda brings some serious energy into the booth. Smiling and grooving, the music channels directly through her. Just like a river find the ocean, that enthusiasm flows instantly into the crowd.
By the time Jayda signed off, Pacha was well and truly warmed up for Sonny Fodera to take the helm.
Jayda G remains one of the most engaging performers on the circuit right now. A chance to catch her in the moment should not be passed upon.
Monday at Pacha continue with Sonny Fodera in the hotseat, every week until 6 October. Over the coming seven weeks, he's joined in the booth by the likes of MK, Roger Sanchez, Armand Van Helden, Eats Everything, D.O.D. and weekly support from Jazzy.
