When it comes to party destinations around the world, our small island in the middle of the Mediterranean really holds its own. Arguably there is nowhere on the planet as densely populated with parties and music talent.
One of the great allures of Ibiza, with its stunning natural landscape and glorious weather, are its various daytime open-air parties. Just being able to dance under the sun to 4/4 electronic music with a drink in hand - does it get any better than that?
Let's take a look at ten of our favourites for daytime shenanigans.
ANTS | Saturday | Ushuaïa
Ushuaïa has a reputation for big production and mass appeal EDM superstar DJs. Whilst that is true four out of seven days, it is also home to the most popular weekly underground party: ANTS.
Each Saturday hordes of revellers - including a healthy residents contingent - descend on Playa d'En Bossa to join the rest of the colony. Regular faces playing include Andrea Oliva, Nic Fanciulli, Kölsch and Steve Lawler.
Craig David's TS5 | Tuesday | Ibiza Rocks hotel
Continuing to roll back the years, the resurgence of 90s pop star Craig David is a true comeback story. This is one of San Antonio's most popular parties - and for good reason. You will hear many hits you love from yesteryear and the present day, whilst larking at poolside.
Craig is quite the showman, wowing audiences with his hybrid one-man show that incorporates DJing, MCing and singing. What a guy! Meanwhile, Ibiza Rocks resident Pat Nazemi will put you right in the mood with his high-octane, cross-genre mash-ups.
shadows | FRIDAY | Blue Marlin
Located on the celebrity hang-out of Cala Jondal, it's no surprise that Blue Marlin attracts an affluent, discerning crowd. Therefore, there is a strong focus on VIP table service, but there's nowhere quite like Blue Marlin's dance floor when the party is in full swing.
This year it has assembled an enviable line-up of talent, with Pete Tong and Dennis Ferrer sharing Sundays, All Day I Dream parties and afterparties from Paradise.
However, Solomun's little sister Magdalena embarking on her own residency Shadows takes our fancy. Admission is free, but be advised that drinks are not on the cheap side. Irrespective of cost, it is a gorgeous outdoor location well worth visiting once.
HotBed | Wednesday | Ocean Beach ibiza
Resident DJs spinning funky house, live saxophonists and dancers dolled-up for glamour shoots performing parades through the venue. Plus, you get to cool off by dipping in the pool. HotBed is a party with a chilled vibe and fashion-conscious clientele.
In fact, throughout the week at Ocean Beach Ibiza, you can be sure to catch parties that feature many of the above ingredients. Every day, the venue boasts a sexy, vocal house and garage soundtrack coupled with beautiful young people.
Tomorrowland and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike present Garden Of Madness| Tuesday | Ushuaïa
If you want full-on mayhem with flashing lights, ticker tape and Hollywood-grade production, then look no further than Garden of Madness. This party is a siege of the senses as you are bombarded with booming basslines and showering confetti.
No expense is spared on either the production or the line-up, with heavyweight guests like NERVO, Steve Angello and Steve Aoki joining the hosts on stage. Also huge at Ushuaïa is David Guetta's BIG.
Cuckoo Land | Friday | Ibiza Rocks hotel
Flying the flag for underground music in the centre of San Antonio is Cuckoo Land. Brought to you by the team behind Do Not Sleep, Friday daytimes at Ibiza Rocks Hotel is the new hangout.
Resident Sonny Fodera provides the beats next to a raft of tech house dynamos, including Max Chapman, Ben Pearce and Huxley. This one is also a great party to check-out the next wave of breakthrough DJs on the island.
Destinomakers | Thursday | Destino
This summer Destino has cast its net wider than ever to showcase a growing pool of talent. Among the most notable have been Papa Sven's returns to the venue and his adventures with Cocoon Daytime. Is there a better fit on the island?
The Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati and Marco Carola represent some new faces, while Solomun returned with his + LIVE concept with a date alongside Redshape. There's still more Destinomakers to be announced, so keep those eyes peeled.
WooMooN | Sunday | Cova Santa
[Note: WooMooN has ended for 2018 but will most likely be back next summer. Stay tuned!]
As the name applies, this is a party with hippie roots and a strong spiritual ethos. A recurring theme of worshipping celestial bodies and the female form flows through this production. It forms part of a circle of events known for their immersive theatre.
This year's centrepiece is titled NAKED so expect plenty of provocative skits and a little gratuitous nudity.
Aside from the peripheral entertainment, dreamy soundscapes are provided by the likes of Blond:ish, Oliver Koletzki and Jan Blomqvist. Although proceedings start off outdoors, they move inside later on inside Cova Santa's unique interior.
the Zoo Project | Sunday | Benimussa Park
Each and every Sunday, this party brings a festival vibe to this stunning outdoor location on the outskirts of San Antonio. Famed for audience participation and astute underground music policy, The Zoo Project attracts a diverse crowd.
The ever-popular party is still the main draw at Benimussa Park, although with Tuesday's Rebels Land and various one-offs, there is plenty going on across the season.
Lost In Ibiza | Wednesday | San Antonio
Some of the best kind of day parties are those that take place on the high seas. Set sail with any number of boat parties, and you can dance on deck whilst basking in the Mediterranean sun.
One of our favourites is Lost In Ibiza. Not only has it programmed a considered underground line-up, but those precious Paradise combo tickets are a really attractive option for those who want to party from day into night.
