World Cancer Day: Ibiza

February 4th is World Cancer day all across the globe

February 4th is World Cancer day all across the globe and we'll be doing our bit to raise awareness and funds here in Ibiza on Sunday 6th February. The two organisations which do so much on the island to help sufferers of the disease, the AIFC (Ibiza and Formentera Cancer Association) an the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer), have joined forces to promote themselves on the day.

They've organised a fun walk all around Ibiza harbour to the Botafoch dyke and back. It's a nice flat stretch and not the least bit arduous so is suitable for young an old.

The walk starts at 11.00 from the Fisherman's statue on the corner of the port by the Mar y Sol bar ('A' on the map). Prior to this, walkers have to register from 10.00 to 10.45 in the marquee in Ibiza's main square the Vara de Rey – it's €5 for adults and €2.50 for kids.

There'll be a refreshment marquee at the Botafoch dyke ('B' on the map). with time to have a snack before returning to the port!

So, anyone in Ibiza on that Sunday, why not go along with all the family – you can even take the dog – to help such a worthwhile cause and get a bit of gentle exercise at the same time.

See you there?
