The Newcastle-based artist returns to Ibiza this week with Mambo Moments, a new collection of 40 original portraits celebrating the magical moments and key characters from the history of Café Mambo.
The exhibition, created through an official collaboration with Café Mambo takes place on Thursday 17 September from 19:00 at Mimo's at Hotel Boutique & Spa Las Mimosas in the bay of San Antonio.
Brown's portraits look back to Café Mambo's beginnings in 1994, capturing some of the notable figures and moments that have helped shape the San Antonio venue's history. Among those represented are DJ Graeme Park, described as the first major DJ to play at Café Mambo, and Carl Cox's memorable appearance alongside The Brand New Heavies on keyboards, alongside other influential DJs who have passed through the venue's famous booth.
The opening night will combine the exhibition with a soundtrack from DJs Paul Riseley and David Moreno, who will play a mix of Balearic and soulful house. Moreno's set will also be broadcast live on Pure Radio Ibiza from 20:00 to 22:00.
