Darius Syrossian picks his favourite things to do on Ibiza

The Moxy Muzik label boss and Defected monthly resident shares his tips for doing Ibiza right.

Darius Syrossian is a name long-associated with nightlife on Ibiza.

From the early days of Tribal Sessions at Sankeys alongside Sidney Charles and Santé, to playing at some of the island's most legendary clubs over the last decade, the Moxy Muzik label boss continues to make regular appearances at Ibiza's biggest parties.

Little wonder he knows both sides of the island. He’s a big believer in getting out and exploring Ibiza. We handed him the keys to our favourite things to do on Ibiza feature to discover where he eats, drinks, unwinds and, of course, dances when he's not behind the decks.

Mindset

The main thing I always say is this: make sure you don’t spend the entire trip partying.

It would be such a waste to come to this magical island and not experience one of those wholesome, fresh Ibiza mornings. Get up early, grab a coffee and watch the sun come up. That side of the island is just as special as the nightlife.

Going for a stroll

Other than the obvious things, like a boat day out to Formentera, I honestly love one of the simplest things in life: walking. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love to walk, so I’ve got several routes around the island that I do whenever I get the chance.

Most of them follow the coastline and usually last an hour or more.

The longest I’ve done was from the Fish Shack all the way to Dalt Vila, stopping for food, and then carrying on to Figueretas. If you do it during a full moon, it’s absolutely beautiful. Ibiza is one of those places where sometimes the simplest things are the best.

Beach recommendation

I'm not going to be obvious and say Cala Jondal, although that's still a lovely day out.

For me, it’s the beach behind Cala Salada (pictured above).

You have to climb up the hill and then make your way down over the rocks to get there, which makes it feel a bit more special. The sand under your feet when you’re in the sea is so fine that it almost feels like you're in the Bahamas. No joke! It's such an amazing spot.

Dinner at sunset

There are honestly too many places across the island to mention them all.

I’ve stayed at Six Senses a few times. Having dinner there overlooking the sea is spectacular. Then again, I really love the simpler experiences too, like eating up in Dalt Vila around the castle as the sun is going down.

Sunset Ashram (pictured above) at Cala Conta is another favourite.

There’s something about the setting that almost makes you feel like you’re somewhere in Africa. If you haven’t been yet, you definitely need to experience it.

Party spot

Over the years, I've been lucky enough to play and hold residencies at many of the island’s clubs. I've had residencies at Privilege, Space, Amnesia and before that I spent three years at Sankeys IBZ (pictured above). Those were magic times.

Every summer since 2019, I've been a monthly resident for Defected, as well as playing Solid Grooves at DC10 and Paradise, which is now at [UNVRS]. So I really have done them all. Every club has its own character.

I have to say, Chinois Ibiza is amazing.

I'd heard so many people tell me how good it was, but until I actually played there, I didn’t realise quite how good. The room, the sound and the atmosphere are absolutely brilliant. It’s genuinely one of my favourite places to play on the island.

Thank you, Darius, for the most detailed and passionate entry we've had into the series yet. This man knows his onions. Is he angling for a job at Ibiza Spotlight? If the DJing and record label ever stop working, give us a call.

His last confirmed Ibiza date of the 2026 season is for Defected at Chinois Ibiza next week.

Catch him alongside Cinthie, Deetron, Harry Romero, Lil' Louis and Manu Gonzalez on Thursday 17 September.

Tickets are on sale now and available to buy below.
