Ibiza Gastro Fest III

We've news of yet another gastronomic event taking place in Ibiza

We've news of yet another gastronomic event taking place in Ibiza. This time it's Ibiza town's Gastro Fest III which takes place in a marquee by the Formentera ferries at the port from Thursday to Sunday this week (starting 30th April)

The idea of the festival is to publicise the gastronomy and customs of other regions of Spain to the people of Ibiza and its visitors. In previous years Extremadura and Galicia have featured, this year it's the turn of Asturias – a mountainous region in the north west of the country – to show us what it can do.

It's truly surf'n'turf country as its cattle roam freely over the lush hill pastures, its fields produce apples and beans and the Atlantic Ocean crashes onto its beaches. No surprise then that specialities of the region include giant t-bone steaks, bean cassoulets, lashings of cider, seafood platters and rice pudding made with fresh milk and cream.

The marquee will be open from 12.00 to 24.00 every day and Sandra Mayans, Ibiza's councilor for Culture and Fiestas has promised that there'll be really affordable prices so everyone can sample the fare.
