Getting there: Reached by car or bus, follow the signposts from San Carlos. Limited parking is available directly at the beach; if you arrive early, you may be able to find parking along the access road that runs through the resort. Also reached by a tourist train from Santa Eulalia and Es Caná. There is also a small ferry jetty with ferries to Santa Eulalia, Ibiza Town and Formentera.

The beach

Es Figueral is a small resort on the north-east coast of the island, with two large hotel clubs that are popular with an international crowd of holidaymakers, as well as several smaller hostels and apartment complexes that are ideal for families.

There are all the facilities you might need for a holiday or day trip, including shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars.

The beach itself offers an expanse of lovely soft, golden sand backed by rocky cliffs, with turquoise, shallow waters that are perfect for children, and views across to the islet of Tagomago, which is privately owned.

Passing the rocks at the left end, you'll reach a more secluded section of the beach, without any facilities, where some people practise nudism.

Things to do

There is a good choice of water sports on offer at the beach. On land, you can enjoy lovely excursions and other activities in the unspoiled natural surroundings of the small resort, which is also ideal for cycling and hiking.

If you want to combine an excursion along the beautiful coast with some sightseeing, take a ferry from the jetty at the beach to Santa Eulalia, Ibiza town or as far as Formentera.

There are several traditional restaurants and bars along the road leading to the beach. Directly on the beach two restaurants offer pleasant sea views.

Some of the restaurants and bars within the large hotel clubs are open to the public and provide panoramic views from an elevated position.
