Where to stay in the north of Ibiza: high-end to budget

Along with its stunning scenery and captivating coves, the far north of the White Isle also offers some fabulous places to stay.

Far from the thrum of beach clubs, heaving nightclubs, and the teeming traffic of the south, Ibiza’s north offers a different kind of allure, one that's rooted in tranquillity, natural beauty, and understated charm.

Here, pine-clad hills tumble towards secluded coves, whitewashed villages bask in the sun, and time seems to slow. Whether you're after a boutique hotel with sweeping sea views, a rustic finca nestled in olive groves, a stylish apartment in a sleepy coastal resort, or a luxury villa hidden among the hills, the north delivers an unspoilt escape with something for every budget.

The accommodation options here encompass a zone comprised of four peaceful resorts, which are great for family getaways: Puerto San Miguel in the west, Portinatx and Cala San Vicente in the far north/northeast, and Es Figueral in the east. It also includes the town and municipality of San Juan, and the picturesque village of San Carlos.

Here's our selection from this vast, tranquil and simply stunning side of the island.

High-end

Nomad Temple

New for 2026, Nômade Temple Ibiza is set to cause quite the stir. Set on the Portinatx cliffside, its stunning grounds are home to over 180 studios, suites and villas (even some with private pools), all impressively designed to mirror the stunning landscape on which they reside. The resort features onsite wellness centres, including the Gön House of Healing, a fitness centre, and a stunning swimming pool. Guests can also enjoy the Mediterranean seafront restaurant La Popular, an Omakase experience at Kuu jū, the pool bar, Dante's HiFi nightclub and exclusive beach access. Why would you ever check out?

Aerial view of Six Senses Ibiza

Six Senses Ibiza boasts a five-star oasis replete with an alluring selection of accommodation options amongst its range of villas. With four restaurants, a great kids' club, fun workshops and impeccable wellness and fitness facilities, it's everything you'd expect from this world-famous brand. The legendary Hacienda Na Xamena, Ibiza, is the island's first five-star hotel and offers sea views to die for, excellent amenities and exquisite rooms. As if that weren't enough, its spa is simply out of this world.

The family-friendly port of San Miguel

For those who seek upmarket accommodation in the resort of Puerto San Miguel, the standout option is Cala San Miguel Ibiza Resort, Adults only, Curio Collection by Hilton. Beachfront facing, the resort features two outdoor pools, a fitness and wellness centre, and beautifully designed rooms. Meanwhile, in the resort of Cala San Vicente - just steps from the beach - El Somni Ibiza Dream Hotel by Grupotel features distinctive aesthetics, an active entertainment programme, and a well-equipped spa and wellness zone.

Further east lies the charming village of San Carlos, which attracts holidaymakers owing to its unbeatable combination of lovely scenery, easy access to beaches, dining and drinking options and proximity to nearby hippie markets.

If this is your destination, the luxurious five-star hotel and spa resort Hotel Rural & Spa Can Curreu is the area's top hotel that features every plush five-star necessity, plus its own equestrian centre. Agroturismo Atzaró, a gorgeous rural agro-tourism hotel set in the heart of the scenic Morna Valley, is another must, whether it's to stay there, to dine, to spend a day in its luxurious spa or for an evening cocktail.

Mid-range

Cala San Vicente bay, with its stunning, clear waters

First up among the hotels in the mid-range category is the frontline Grupotel Imperio Playa. Featuring palm-fringed, beachfront views, this four-star hotel is only a step from the Cala San Vicente golden sands.

Sharing a similar beachfront position are Apartamentos San Miguel Park & Esmeralda Mar in Puerto San Miguel. Here, guests can choose from studios, one and two-bedroom apartments and apartments with sea views. Another option is Balansat Resort, a four-star, family-friendly apartment complex with good children’s facilities and a lively entertainment programme.

Set further back, Can Maries Country Hotel, a spacious, tastefully decorated boutique hotel with its own restaurant, is a sound choice for those seeking somewhere to stay with a personal touch.

In the north of Ibiza, the seaside resort of Portinatx

Returning to Portinatx, the Grupotel Ibiza Beach Resort is a good choice for those wanting direct beach access and a beautiful adult-only space. Well equipped, the Barceló Portinatx offers two pools, a large solarium, a wellness area, and a terrace with panoramic sea views. It also has a good activities programme with water sports, hiking and cycling. Sandos El Greco features facilities such as an outdoor pool, fitness centre, and a wellness centre, as well as an à la carte restaurant, an air-conditioned buffet eatery, a poolside snack bar and a pizzeria.

With almost 450 rooms, the three-star Invisa Hotel Club Cala Blanca is our recommendation for Es Figueral. Guests can enjoy such amenities as a bar, a fitness centre and a sun terrace. The restaurant offers themed dinners. Ideal for family tourism, it has a kids’ swimming pool and other recreational activities.

Budget

The small resort of Es Figueral, situated on Ibiza's east coast

A popular family-oriented resort, Es Figueral is probably the most affordable resort in the north of Ibiza. Although home to a smaller selection of accommodation, there are some lovely options that offer a comfortable stay.

The area is also home to the comfortable and modern Apartamentos Colomar, which offers well-equipped apartments with balconies, along with a suntrap garden, terrace, and swimming pool. Hostal Es Figueral is a charming stay, with a rustic, boho theme running throughout the hotel and outside space.

In Portinatx, the frontline, family-run guesthouse Hostal La Cigüeña punches well above its weight for a one-star establishment, offering guests bright rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a garden and terrace space. The reasonably priced S'Arenal Apartments also deserve a mention. Its apartments are simple but have everything you need, and have beautiful views of the bay.
