Cala Boix (pronounced 'Bosh') is a picturesque bay, the light waters contrasting well with the quite dark sand. The whole area is enclosed by high cliffs, creating a feeling of privacy. It's a steep descent down concrete steps to reach the sand, so it could prove difficult for those with mobility problems.

For the more active beach lovers, with the right wind Cala Boix is also a decent spot for some nice waves with a bit of bodysurfing.

Spotlight tip: The dark sand absorbs heat easily, so make sure you bring some beach-friendly footwear or you could have a painful time running for an icecream at 14:00!

Beach bars and restaurants

There is one small bar right on the beach, with three popular restaurants on the road above. Cala Boix is a very popular place to eat for the locals as the restaurants gathered around the parking area are all famed for their fish dishes. If you want lunch with a view choose the restaurant perched on the clifftop overlooking the beach - stunning!
