Getting there: If you're staying in the resort, you can easily walk to the beach from most of the accommodation. If you're staying in nearby Santa Eulalia and fancy a day out then a regular bus service gets you there easily, or enjoy the short ferry ride from the marina. The bus stop is directly behind the beach, as is a taxi rank. Parking is free along the road running parallel to the beach, here you will also find a small free public parking. If you don't find a space, there is also a paid parking directly behind the beach.

A little further along the coast from Santa Eulalia, you'll find the popular resort of Es Caná, which is wrapped around a long, horseshoe-shaped beach of golden sand, gently lapped by clear waters. There is a small harbour at one end.

This beach is ideal for families as the sand shelves gently into the sea, making it safe for the little ones to play in the shallow water. This is a well-maintained beach with many facilities such as showers, loungers, daybeds and parasols. There are also plenty of relaxing spots where you can simply stretch out on the sands. In general, the atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful, with no loud music spilling out from the bars and restaurants.

Es Caná is also well known for its water sports. Here you can have an action-packed day on the water with several water sports and boat trips leaving from the small harbour and - for something more low-key - some good fishing spots at the end of the harbour.

In the evenings, a small fun fair located on a square right behind the beach attracts younger holidaymakers. It has merry-go-rounds, trampolines, bumper cars and more. On the same square, you will also find a small tourism office.

There are two beaches nearby, easily reached by foot. Follow the wooden boardwalk along the coast at the north end of the beach and you'll reach a hidden promenade. At the end, there is a path over the cliffs which leads you to Cala Nova, a beautiful natural beach, and a favourite among the surfers of the island on windy days. At the southern outskirts of the resort, you will find the small beach of Cala Martina, also with a good choice of water sports.

Beach bars and restaurants

Making the most of the wonderful sea views, there is quite a lively bar and restaurant scene lining the crescent beach. In the resort itself, you'll find a wide choice of bars offering evening entertainment, which Es Caná has plenty of.

If you want a more sophisticated and relaxed ambience, head to nearby Cala Nova for some exclusive beach clubs and a gourmet restaurant in the resort's only 5-star hotel.
