There is a free car park belonging to one of the restaurants and parking is also possible in the surrounding roads. In high season parking can be a squeeze, so do come early or late afternoon. Alternatively stroll along the coast from either of these two resorts (about 30 minutes from Es Caná and 90 from Santa Eulalia, at a leisurely pace). There are also small ferries which connect to Santa Eulalia, Es Caná, Cala Llonga, Ibiza town and even Formentera.
The beach
Cala Pada offers a broad, sandy beach with a slowly shelving seabed and turquoise waters. It is a very beautiful bay, with fragrant pines, flowering oleander and tall palm trees surrounding the sand bar above craggy red rocks. This is one of the few beaches offering natural shade, as the pine trees grow close to or even at the beach.
There is a jetty stretching from the shore right into the sea; from here ferries connect to the neighbouring resorts of Es Caná and Santa Eulalia and even as far as Ibiza Town and Formentera.
Often frequented by guests of the nearby family-friendly hotels, the beach is very popular with families. The offshore reefs protect the bay from the sea, so the water is mostly calm and safe to swim. Seaweed accumulates in some places; this is left to protect the sand from being washed away.
If just lying in the sun is too boring for you, a very good offer of water sports keeps you active. And you can even buy yourself a new bikini or some trunks, in a small souvenir and beachwear shop next to the diving school and another one next to the parking.
If you come with kids, try the Acrobosc assault course and climbing park, approximately 600 meters or a 10 minute walk from the beach.
Spotlight tip
From Cala Pada you can do walks along the coast to neighbouring beaches. Especially beautiful is the walk to the beach Es Niu Blau towards the South - walk along red cliffs, in the shade of lush pine trees, in a refreshing breeze ...
Beach bars and restaurants
Three restaurants line the back of the beach with large terraces where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the view.
Two are typical rustic beach bar restaurants, the other is a well known fish and seafood restaurant, which is also very popular with the locals.
Nearby accommodation
