For over 125 years Teatro Pereyra has been the focus of social and cultural life on Ibiza. Over that time, all kinds of activities have been held here ranging from theatre, ballroom dances, and variety shows, to meetings, conferences, film screenings, and more. In 2006 its cultural significance for the island was recognised when it was declared a Class 1 Cultural Heritage Site.
After 16 years of renovation work, it is now proud to reopen its doors to reclaim that role and to welcome a new generation of culture-seekers and socialites. The multicultural hub will be open year-round. Thanks to its design along the lines of a classic 19th-century French theatre circus, the venue has a unique and distinguished atmosphere that makes it easy for attendees to socialise.
Café Pereyra has always been a meeting point and social rendezvous point and that is just as true today. Each morning, its doors open for breakfast. Its expansive outdoor porch is - without a doubt - one of the top spots in Ibiza Town to take in the colourful spectacle of life on one of downtown Ibiza's most central streets. And when it comes to snapping a few pics of the goings-on, its iconic terrace - situated in the splendidly opulent Sandoval Room upstairs - is simply unbeatable.
The theatre can also be booked for private events, whether in its main areas or in any of the complementary rooms that can be adapted for all kinds of celebrations or activities.
Upcoming Events.
Over the summer, in-house band "The Pereyras" will be livening up the nights at Café Pereyra from 20:00 onwards. Be prepared for music, dance, and lots of fun with the best songs. During the rest of the year, the group will perform every weekend at the Café-Bar.
19 May is the date for the premiere of the new musical dinner show "Ibiza Hippie Heaven" by Nacho Cano, co-founder of the Spanish mega band, Mecano. The live music spectacle will combine leading national and international musicians, actors, and dancers in a series of themed nights of magic and fantasy.
This unique show - which will only be performed on Ibiza - will allow attendees to travel through time, learning about the history of the white island in a fun, immersive way that is imbued with the special energy for which Ibiza is famous.
To accompany the show, Teatro Pereyra offers a range of delightful hors d'oeuvres created expressly by international chef Emiliano Crucely, designed to transport you by land and sea on an authentic gastronomic journey.
