Inside WHO, Teatro Pereyra's immersive new dinner show

A dazzling journey through gastronomy, performance and nightlife.

Teatro Pereyra has been part of Ibiza's cultural life for more than 125 years, having first opened in 1898, and remains one of the island's most historic performance venues.

Its setting in the heart of Ibiza Town makes it easily accessible, whether arriving on foot or from nearby hotels, reinforcing the appeal of an evening that unfolds entirely within a single location.

Within this setting, WHO lends itself naturally to a relaxed dinner, followed by high-quality live performance and, for those who wish to stay on, a seamless transition into a late-night dance floor without ever leaving the venue.

The evening began around the table, where chef Juan Alcaide's menu was fully integrated into the experience. Holding two Repsol Suns, Alcaide has created a gastronomic offering designed to complement the rhythm of the night. Highlights included delicate red prawn carpaccio, soft-shell crab, wild fish tataki and slow-cooked tuna loin, before petit fours and delicate chocolates brought the meal to a refined conclusion.

As dinner progressed, the focus gradually shifted towards the stage. The opening moments were among the most memorable, with the highly talented Ibiza-based singer Romana Alarcón delivering a poignant operatic aria that resounded throughout the venue and captivated the audience. From there, the mood evolved through a succession of acrobatic displays, trapeze performances and theatrical interludes, all presented with a playful cabaret sensibility.

Humour played an important role throughout. A colourful cast of performers, extravagant costumes and drag artistry ensured there was never a dull moment, while familiar musical numbers helped maintain a lively atmosphere. A jaunty rendition of “Great Balls of Fire” and a spirited performance of “You Can Leave Your Hat On” proved particular crowd-pleasers, with plenty of audience participation.

The production embraces spectacle but never feels overly serious, allowing guests to relax and become part of the experience rather than simply observing it from a distance.

The evening reached its climax with a rousing version of “Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend”, bringing the audience to its feet and providing a fitting finale. The theatrical production then gave way to Pereyra Sessions, with DJs taking control of the venue and steering the soundtrack towards deep house, melodic house and other electronic genres. The shift feels organic rather than abrupt, allowing the energy built throughout dinner and the show to continue long into the night.

For those not ready to head home, Pereyra Sessions follows immediately afterwards. With free entry for those who have attended WHO, the after-party sees an eclectic lineup of DJs take over the theatre for a carefully curated club session, allowing guests to continue their night out at one of Ibiza's most historic venues.

Part cabaret, part dining experience and part nightclub, WHO successfully adds a new dimension to Ibiza nightlife while making full use of one of the island's most iconic cultural venues.
