Getting there: Located in the middle of the Figueretas suburb of Ibiza Town. Easily reached on foot (ca. 15 minutes from the centre of Ibiza Town), by bus and in summer also by ferry.

The beach of Figueretas is a well-made, centrally-located beach, divided into smaller parts by rocky piers, creating great areas for children to play in by day and convenient piers to fish from in the evening. The whole bay is bordered by a palm fringed promenade.

The promenade has been completely modernised for summer 2019 and whilst most of it is complete, there may be some additional building work in May/start of June. Our photos still show the promenade as it was and will be updated as soon as all work is complete.

During the summer Figueretas beach is busy with holidaymakers and locals alike. Small ferries go to Ibiza Town and Playa den Bossa and there are a good many boat trips that go from here, including those that go to Formentera. In the evening the promenade comes alive with people strolling along, the setting up of small stands selling jewellery and souvenirs. You will also see many happy diners enjoying their dinner on outside terraces watching other people pass by.

This is the closest beach to Ibiza and there are good views of the old walled city of Dalt Vila from the southern end. And to the south the popular resort of Playa d'en Bossa is but a short walk away.

Beach bars and restaurants

There is a good choice of bars and restaurants all within easy reach either on the seafront promenade or along the road above it. The restaurants on the promenade offer beautiful terraces with stunning views of the whole bay; in some you can be sitting with the water only a few metres down below. Most offer a choice of international and Mediterranean cuisine, from tasty breakfasts to lunch and dinner. Some of the restaurants offer more specialised cuisine like Japanese, Italian and tapas.

Hotels and villas

There are many accommodation options near this beach and it is worth checking out the full range of hotels and apartments.

For something special try the Cenit, a gay-friendly and family hotel with a fun atmosphere and spectacular views. At the south end of the resort you'll find the amazing Torre del Mar Hotel, a beautifully designed oasis with a spectacular pool area.

A great alternative for groups and families is a private villa with its own pool and garden, which can offer terrific value on the per-person cost. Check out our selection of villas near Ibiza Town to see what's available near here.
