The small resort of Talamanca is just 2 km from the centre of cosmopolitan Ibiza Town and a short stroll from Marina Botafoch and Pacha, which influences the truly international character of the beach. Cala Talamanca is a long, curved beach creating an insular little paradise, with soft sand shelves and clear water making it excellent for safe bathing.

A wooden boardwalk runs the length of Talamanca beach, convenient to avoid uncomfortably hot sand, passing over into a lovely promenade on the left end of the bay, easily connecting you to either end. You'll find a very good choice of bars and restaurants along its length. Some are open the whole year round and so Talamanca is very popular in the winter months for walks around the bay and lunches in the warm winter sun.

Although family friendly, it's fair to say Talamanca is more adult-oriented, with the beach facilities reflecting this. PRs do frequent the area in peak season, but it becomes quieter as you walk away from town. Bars will play music, but the aural-spill onto the beach is usually minimal.

Beach bars and restaurants:

The beach of Talamanca is fringed with a wonderful selection of beach bars and restaurants. Some packed with locals, such as Bar Flotante (a popular and affordable spot for breakfast) and the very popular restaurant of the Talamanca Hostel, where you'll get great food all day, especially fresh fish and seafood. There are also some very high end gourmet places, such as the restaurants in the new Nobu hotel - or grab one of the best pizzas on the island at Club Talamanca.

Hotels and villas:

Most of the hotels in Talamanca are next to the sea and have stunning views of the old town of Ibiza, especially when lit at night. There are also hotels open all year round. If you really want something special, stay in Destino Pacha Ibiza Resort, a luxurious complex on a cliff top near Talamanca. The 4 star Argos Hotel is a more relaxed and for those on a budget, Talamanca Hostel right on the sandy beach is fun, friendly and relaxed.

A great alternative especially for families and groups are the beautiful self-catering villas nearby, for example this luxury sea view Villa offers stunning panoramic views of Talamanca and the sea.
