Top 5: RnB Samples

Everyone's been embracing the crossover of genres this summer, with electronic and urban music going hand in hand more than ever. Here's our pick of dance tracks reworking some RnB classics.

This summer Ibiza's seen performances by Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Usher, Kelis…the list goes on. The island's gone hippidy hop, R-to-the-B mad! Not to mention P Diddy showing his face at techno parties Ciroloco and Cocoon. And dance producers are clearly loving the urban crossover too, here's our favourite hip hop/RnB samples…

Genius of Time – Houston We Have a Problem

A big hit on the dancefloors earlier this summer, Whitney Houston belts it out the way she knows best.

Solomon – Love Recycled 1

We were treated to a performance of the original hip hop hit Regulate by Warren G, when he joined Snoop Dogg on stage at Amnesia for the I Want My MTV Ibiza 2011 opening party. Solomon gives it a new disco feel.

Lee Foss – Happen For a Reason

By his own admission, producer Lee Foss' unique sound has been heavily influenced by 90's hip hop. The You Got Me EP was a massive success for the Hot Creations label last summer and Happen For A Reason features the vocal of Jennifer Hudson.

Soul Clap – Extravaganza

The kings of reworking old skool classics, Soul Clap's R&B Edits EP does exactly what it says on the tin, with three tracks sampling Jamie Foxx, R Kelly and Lonnie Liston Smith. Here's our favourite Extravaganza.

Joy Orbison – Ladywell

A beautifully chilled out track that uses an Usher vocal, currently being played out by the likes of Matt Tolfrey and Dan Ghenacia.
