Medieval Tapas in Ibiza

To help celebrate Ibiza's Medieval market and festival this weekend

To help celebrate Ibiza's Medieval market and festival this weekend, 27 bars in Ibiza town have got together to make their own Medieval Tapas. Like other tapas nights in San Antonio and Santa Eulalia, the Ibiza town bars will be providing tapas accompanied by wine or beer at extremely economical prices.

The 'medieval' bit of the tapas comes from the names that have been chosen for them;
Swords, pinchos on cocktail sticks are €2
Shields, meat, fish or vegetables on a slice of bread are €2
Lances, bigger brochettes of meat or fish are €4
Catapults, large tapas in earthenware dishes are €4
and they all come with non-medieval beer, a delicious golden drink, or wine, another delicious drink which comes in 3 colours, red, white and pink.

Medieval tapa nights take place every Thursday in May (5th, 12th, 19th and 26th) and as you can see, we managed to get hold of a parchment scroll containing the names of all the bars, what kind of tapas they'll have and their opening times – sun=day, moon=night.

There's a special show by Ibiza's performance artists (you'll have seen them in Pacha) Foc i Fum which takes place in the Vara de Rey at 20.00 this Thursday, the 5th, to get the tapa nights off to a flying start.

Here's a link to a map of all the bars which rolls up neatly so as not to spoil the line of your tabard or hose when out on the town!
