There are hot streaks and then there is Carl Cox's current output.
The veteran DJ and producer is enjoying a purple patch in the studio as of late, as he teases yet another new remix. The Sunday night [UNVRS] host's "rewire" of Renegade Soundwave's The Phantom is fresh off the back of his Legacy remix.
Founding member Danny Briottet approached Steve Mac's Jack Said What team with the idea of reworking some of the RSW back catalogue, giving birth to the project.
Coxy has long cited the 1989 original as one of his all-time favourite tracks. He's played on Ibiza numerous times down the years. When he caught wind of the Renegade Soundwave Rewired project, he was the first remixer to jump onboard.
Keeping his mix exclusively to himself until now, Carl has been shelling his version out at festivals stage and during his residency at [UNVRS] across the summer to huge crowd reactions.

One of the most innovative acts to emerge from the UK in the '80s, Renegade Soundwave refused to observe traditional genre boundaries.
The outfit fused sound system culture with distorted bass, breakbeat, industrial textures, punk attitude and dub production, creating a body of work light years ahead of its time. No wonder it struck a chord with Cox and his wide-ranging taste.
This summer, Carl has been sporting a new slimline figure and is enjoying a new lease of life. That zest has evidently transferred behind the mixing desk, as he's been churning out music left, right and centre. Long may it continue.
The beneficiaries have been the attendees at his Sunday night party, who get to hear everything weeks before the general public. It makes us wonder how much more new music he has stashed away? Time will tell.
Carl Cox's "rewire" of Renegade Soundwave's The Phantom will be released on 24 September via Jack Said What, when it'll be available to stream and download on all reputable online platforms. The full package includes new versions from Leeroy Thornhill, Don Letts and Gaudi.
Coxy has four dates left this summer, starting with tonight's Disco special which features Louie Vega, Dimitri From Paris and Souldynamic.
Tickets for all four are on sale below.
