Associated with the scene giant's sunrise sessions at his Sunday night [UNVRS] residency this year, Carl Cox has finally released his viral Legacy remix. The reimagined anthem by Vikthor & Pianoalani is out today, Friday 4 September, on Coxy's own Intec label.
Released eleven months ago, the original had already captured the imagination of partygoers long before the stems entered Carl's studio. Now, it has been given a new lease of life as a 130 bpm journey that draws upon the remixer's wide-ranging influences.
The new version introduces rising tension and a larger-scale arrangement, custom-designed for expansive Ibiza moments and peak-time club systems.
No wonder Cox has been rinsing it around the time the sun starts to creep up behind him, this summer. It has been captured in numerous fan-taken videos circulating social media for the past few months.
"The original already had a feeling that people connected with, particularly in those sunrise moments," says Carl.
"The challenge was keeping that emotion, while giving the record enough power and movement to work in my own sets. It naturally ended up somewhere between Melodic Techno, Progressive House and Trance."
Vikthor & Pianoalani's Legacy (Carl Cox remix) is out via Intec now and available to stream and download at all reputable online platforms.
If you need to experience this moment as day breaks behind the stage at [UNVRS], you'll need to get down to the hyper-club on Sunday night before the end of summer.
There are five dates left before 2026 draws to a close, starting with the line-up that includes Sasha & John Digweed this weekend. Tickets to all remaining dates are on sale now and available to buy below or by heading to our party calendar.
