Ushuaïa Ibiza's homemade party ANTS is putting the final touches on another historic season. The furnace has raged at the Metalworks every Saturday since the first weekend in May. Just a couple of weeks out from the closing party, there's been some punchy updates to the line-up.
One addition in particular immediately caught our eye...
It seems like Nic Fanciulli and Joris Voorn are getting the firm back together, as Tech House heavies La Familia reunite on 4 October.
Between the summers of 2014 and 2015, it ran roughshod over Ushuaïa as its second weekly underground party (pictured below). Operating in the early and late season, La Familia's hosts would often pop up together at ANTS during the months it didn't take place.
Although the project got shelved indefinitely the year after, Nic and Joris teased that they would revisit it at some point in the future. Could this be an early sign of a potential revival?
Both men are more than competent solo DJs, each with a legitimate claim to being two of the most successful DJs ever.
Equally, they are regarded somewhat as back-to-back specialists. Nic is known for his frequent pairings with Carl Cox, Andrea Oliva and, more recently, John Summit. Meanwhile, past years have seen Joris link up with Kölsch, Sasha and Yotto.
And yet, the thought of this reunion has got the blood rising as fast as any of the above partnerships.
One thing we're confident in saying is, despite the years in exile, those close family bonds will show no signs of cobwebs. There are old scores to settle. Ushuaïa has been put on notice.
Also playing is HoneyLuv, with further combos between Andrea Oliva and Franky Wah, Mason Collective and Chelina Manuhutu and Max Dean and Sosa. It's a stacked bill and a fitting end to another ANTS season.
