5 Ibiza bookings we didn't see coming in 2022

Forthcoming DJ appearances that caught us off-guard in a good way.

When it comes to Ibiza, certain DJs become synonymous with particular clubs by how often they play there. Think Black Coffee and Hï Ibiza or Seth Troxler and DC10 - they go hand in hand.

Well what we've noticed for 2022, is an array of talent set to adorn the DJ booths of these clubs, who come as a bit of a surprise. We like it when things get mixed up and there's definitely a few eyebrow-raisers in store this summer.

It appears that this year is about breaking boundaries and expecting the unexpected. Let's get into a few of the names gracing us with their talents this summer...

RÜFÜS DU SOL | Afterlife | Thursday 7 July

Grammy-award winning, Australian dance trio RÜFÜS DU SOL make their mark on Hï Ibiza, Thursday 7 July at Tale of Us' euphoric Afterlife. With tour dates all over the world this year, it's surprising that they've managed to squeeze a White Isle date into their jam packed schedule.

Since playing at Café Mambo in 2017, the trio have come a long way both in their touring and production front. With numerous gold status albums under their wing, the group have built a devoted fan base across the globe, proving that they can play in just about any country and still expect a packed out dancefloor.

Goldie | Octan | Every Thursday in August

Even in the eyes of royalty, Goldie MBE is dubbed a true musical legend. Arguably the UK's biggest pioneer of D&B and Jungle, he's been snatched up by Playa d'en Bossa's underground sanctum Octan this summer for an unforeseen, one of a kind, Ibiza residency.

Taking place every Thursday this August, this completely unexpected month-long series has shocked us for a few simple reasons:

1. Goldie seemingly took a step back from the club scene some years ago, which makes this out-of-the-blue comeback all the more special.

2. Octan is best known for hosting Minimal/underground music, rather than Drum & Bass, thus introducing something completely new to its programme.

3. D&B has been lacking a presence here for many years, so something extra thrown into the mix is much welcomed.

On 4, 11, 18 and 25 August Goldie graces the decks alongside some cool support acts. Don't pass up on this opportunity and head here for tickets.

Lee Foss | Paradise | 29 June and every week at Repopulate Mars

Labelled "The Arrival," Lee Foss' upcoming residency will be hosted by his spectacular Repopulate Mars imprint. It takes place at San Antonio nightclub Eden, every Tuesday between 21 June and 20 September. This is music to our ears, as he makes his mammoth return to Ibiza after ten whole years out, for reasons that are much speculated in clubland folklore.

The Hot Creations co-founder and label owner also has a couple dates at Amnesia this summer. He kicks things off with bestie Jamie Jones for the ten year anniversary of Hot Creations at Paradise. He's definitely got to make up for lost time. Grab tickets for that at this link.

Natasha Diggs | OUT Ibiza | Thursday 28 July

NYC based DJ and producer Natasha Diggs is known for her diverse vinyl sets, multiple nightclub residencies within her home town and playing alongside the likes of Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Kenny Dope and Jayda G - now that's good company.

Already having played IMS Dalt Vila in April this year, Diggs has bagged herself more dates at Hï Ibiza for Glitterbox. Those in-and-of themselves aren't so surprising. What is surprising, is her standalone date at OUT Ibiza - a quirky new club in San Antonio Bay.

With such vast musical knowledge spanning across many genres, there's no wonder why she is such a respected and reputable name in the industry. Whether you are besotted by her DJing or haven't yet had the privilege, this date is unmissable. Follow here for tickets and info.

Laurent Garnier | Carl Cox Invites | Tuesday 26 July

After stubbornly keeping Ibiza at arm's length for many years, veteran DJ Laurent Garnier has RSVP'd to DC10 by Carl Cox Invites. This is huge news.

On Tuesday 26 July the maestro goes back-to-back with fellow grandmaster Carl Cox on DC10's renowned Terrace. I mean, just wow. It can't get much better than that.

Two true, long-serving heroes mesmerising us for hours on end with carefully selected tunes and outrageous mixing skills. Count us in!

Of course, as well as DJ bookings that caught us off-guard, there's loads more that feel a lot more familiar. Keep your eyes out for our round-up of more predictable, yet equally welcomed, DJ appearances coming soon.
