Ibiza beach of the week: Cala Xuclar

Escape the crowds and embrace the tranquility.

Everyone has their own favourite ‘secret’ cove on Ibiza. Cala Xuclar is definitely one of ours.

This secluded cove has all the characteristics of the perfect place to get away from it all. It’s petite, peaceful and shaded. It’s lovely to swim and snorkel in the shallow water and the light at the end of the day when the sun goes down is spellbinding.

Located in the north of the island, on the road to Portinatx, it is close to its bigger sister Cala Xarraca, which is also nearby. Cala Xuclar takes a special effort to get to, but you will be rewarded for making the trip with an unforgettably peaceful day.

Parking can be difficult at the best of times and in high summer worse. So, get there early and it is one of those special locations where 2 wheels are often better than 4. There is a perfect chiringuito restaurant for a nice seafood lunch but, if you want to eat, be sure to book early or bring your own picnic.

Our photos by our photographer La Skimal should definitely whet your appetite.
