Ibiza Rocks Bar

Good view, good grub and guitars. Naturally.

Opened in 2010, the Ibiza Rocks Bar in San Antonio quickly became one of the favoured food and drink spots on the S'Arenal beach strip. On the promenade right opposite the beach, it's a great spot for people watching, or staring aimlessly out at the water while you sip a beer or cocktail and plan your next move.

The food menu is filling and delicious; particularly excellent hangover food if you can make it past the fast food outlets without buckling. Think Nandos, then add various plates of mouth-watering ribs and burgers, a breakfast option and, our personal favourite, the chicken-pita-meal-deal, which scores you chicken and coleslaw in pita, any side of your choice and a soft drink for only a tenner. Happy days.

In deference to the Ibiza Rocks mothership, Ibiza Rocks Hotel, the bar usually plays a contemporary soundtrack that features bands and live artists - a nice alternative to the dance music pouring out of almost every other venue in the area. That's not to say you can't catch a DJ here, in fact Ibiza Rocks Bar used to be the site of the Ibiza Rocks gigs, where Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Erol Alkan and Calvin Harris all played, plus live acts the Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs and more. Ibiza Rocks Bar also hosts pre-parties, with the two-tiered open plan design acting as an ideal space to get a party started. And don't be surprised to see the odd big name drop-ins here on occasion too; they have a habit of turning up unannounced.
