Ibiza 2017 season news roundup TWO

All of this week´s news wrapped into one.

Sunday might be a day of rest, but we reckon your minds will be feeling just a little bit restless at the thought of Ibiza dangling on the horizon. We´re another week closer, and we´ve packed in some big news over the last seven days. Have a read and book those flights.

1. Unusual Suspects Open Air drops first line-up of the season

It´s going to be a huge summer for the Unusual Suspects crew with two locations in the bag for 2017. Earlier this week we got an insight into what we can expect from its open-air series at Benimussa Park with its debut line-up. On Thursday 18 May we´ll be cutting shapes with Raresh, Praslea and Rick Maia at the Treehouse stage, and over at the Seal Pit you´ll have the Half Baked guys in charge, with Le Loup, Sam Bangura, Greg Brockmann, Federico Grazzini and Frank Storm.

2. Martin Solveig confirms My House dates at Pacha

Martin Solveig wants you back at Pacha every Wednesday with his Balearic residency, My House. It´s a fiesta with a big following, and in 2017 it´s sure as hell going to get bigger with a mammoth 19-date residency. Catch him at the big opening on Wednesday 31 May, and if you miss it you´ve got until Wednesday 4 October to get a slice of Solveig´s spice.

3. Ushuaïa reveals opening party line-up

Berlin´s Paul Kalkbrenner is inviting you lot in for a spin through dance music´s history as he debuts his new concept, Back To The Future. A DeLorean has got to be in the somewhere, eh? Or maybe we´re taking the title too literally. Anyhoo, Kalkbrenner will also be joined by Andrea Oliva, Steve Lawler, David Squillace, Martin Buttrich, UNER, Eats Everything, Francisco Allendes and Raúl Rodriguez. Saturday 27 May, folks.

4. elrow announces Ibiza Rocks Hotel pool parties

elrow´s proved that most adults simply cannot resist an inflatable, and this summer you´ll be putting those rubber rings to proper use as elrow brings pool party chaos to Ibiza Rocks Hotel. In what is a huge coup for not just Ibiza Rocks, but also San Antonio, the Barcelona-born fiesta has signed up for two pool parties in August. On Tuesday 8 and 22 you´re guaranteed some unhinged carnage round that pool. These will be an absolute MUST this year. Don´t miss out.

5. Paul Van Dyk confirmed as Cream resident

Paul Van Dyk is the second DJ to be announced as a Cream resident for season 2017. The trance titan will be back at Amnesia with a nine-date residency this summer, starting with the opening on Thursday 8 June.

6. Pukka Up lands weekly residency at Eden

Pukka Up is Ibiza's original and best sunset boat party, and this year it´ll be taking the party indoors as it heads to Eden with new residency, Tropical Wonderland. Pukka Up will be slaying the session every Saturday from 10 June through to 23 September. Expect vocal-filled house from Pukka Up´s roster of residents, including Aevion, Bombossa Brothers, Chris Wright, Falseface, James Campbell, Marko Liv and Cansen Yilmaz.
