Ibiza in June

As always, the main event in Ibiza in June is the Fiesta of San Juan

As always, the main event in Ibiza in June is the Fiesta of San Juan. It's an age old tradition to welcome summer and expel the bad spirits of winter by lighting bonfires and jumping over them.

Celebrated with great gusto in the village of the same name in the north of Ibiza, when there are live bands, music, dancing and wall to wall fun, it also features large across the island in the towns, villages and various beaches.

Unfortunately this year, it can't have escaped anyone's notice that a large area of forest in the municipality of San Juan was destroyed by the worst fire in Ibiza's history.

However, the good news is that, as always, there's a travelling San Juan Fiesta, which has made a stop in a different place every year since 1971 and this year its in Buscastell, the area around the famous bar Can Tixeido.

The date for your diary is the evening of 23rd June.
