It is always a difficult challenge to maintain complete objectivity when writing about one of your favourite restaurants. It becomes twice as hard when it is a venue you love and visit frequently throughout the long Ibiza season. Yet Tigre Morado, effortlessly mingling into the soft, golden sands of Port d’es Torrent, makes an undeniable case for itself with every passing summer.

The natural setting is pure Mediterranean bliss. The water in this sheltered cove is shallow, calm, and perpetually warm. It is profoundly inviting and perfect for a lazy, weightless float to wash away the indulgence of a big lunch, all while you wait for that warm sunset glow to colour the sky in the early evening.
While it boasts the premium trappings of the island’s larger beach clubs, Tigre Morado sets itself apart by stripping away much of the VIP pretension. It is quieter, less formal, and more relaxed than its deluxe counterparts on other shores. Although Port d’es Torrent may be considered a ‘family beach’, the sound of children playing cheerfully along the shore only adds to its allure.

Here, the idyllic Ibiza beach day is defined by bohemian ease. The smart move is to book one of their luxurious, shaded Bali day beds in advance, settle in for the long haul, and surrender your entire afternoon to this genuine hidden gem on the sunset coast.

Service at Tigre perfectly mirrors this tranquil, unhurried environment. The waiting staff are consistently calm, friendly, and deeply attentive, moving across the sand with an effortless efficiency that keeps your mood entirely stress-free.
Peruvian Nikkei fusion is arguably one of the most exciting and vibrant culinary styles in the world today, and it is an absolute favourite with the Spotlight team. Fortunately, Tigre’s menu provides the perfect canvas for indulging in one of life’s greatest summer pastimes - eating incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, mostly raw seafood right with your toes in the sand.
On this sweltering afternoon, we made the deliberate choice to lean into the ocean’s bounty, opting for a menu of seafood only to keep things light.
We began our culinary journey from the comfort of our Balinese beach bed, letting the sea breeze cool us down before moving beneath the shade of the Sabina trees within the restaurant area. To match the heat, carafes of crisp, immensely refreshing cava sangria kept flowing, keeping our glasses cold and our spirits high.

The beachside chapter of our lunch began with a pristine selection of sushi, delivered straight to our daybed. The Salmon Tempura Sushi arrived crisp on the outside, rich and comforting on the inside, a testament to flawless technique. Alongside it, the Red Tuna Nigiri featured melt-in-the-mouth, premium cuts of local tuna over perfectly seasoned rice, hitting every note you want from high-grade raw fish.

In the shaded refuge of the main restaurant, our feast truly began. First to arrive were the Sautéed Mussels in a yellow garlic sauce. Swimming in a luxurious pool of rich butter, sharp lime juice, and fragrant coriander, this dish is a perennial favourite on the Tigre Morado menu for a very good reason. It is bold and aromatic, and it demands to be mopped up with plenty of bread.

This was closely followed by the Octopus Carpaccio. The kitchen served incredibly tender slivers of octopus, delicately cured in lime juice. It was a masterclass in texture, dissolving on the tongue with a bright, clean tang.

The kitchen’s mastery of Nikkei cuisine shone even brighter when the Tuna Tiraditos arrived on the table. Vibrant, ruby-red slices of fresh tuna were elevated by a yellow garlic sauce and a sophisticated hint of smoky paprika that lingered beautifully.

Next came the namesake Ceviche Morado, a gorgeous bowl of perfectly cubed red tuna bathed in a rich, savoury ponzu sauce. It delivered a wonderfully tart, sharp citrus punch to the palate, which felt revitalising in the midday heat.

A meaty sea bass, smothered in Japanese butter, was the next treat to arrive, accompanied by a couple of exceptional side dishes. The Chaufa Rice, a wok-fried masterpiece packed to the brim with fresh vegetables, earthy mushrooms, egg, and a deeply savoury oriental sauce, brought a comforting warmth to the party.
Alongside it, a colourful Avocado Salad, tossed with ripe tomatoes, fiery ginger, onion, and fresh coriander, provided a clean, zesty crunch that beautifully complemented the richness of the seafood.

To close out a meal of this calibre, a spectacular dessert was required, and the kitchen delivered with La Chocoteja. It centres on a rich, velvety 70% Peruvian chocolate ganache, studded with the crunch of caramelised pecans. The addition of flaky Maldon sea salt and a silky drizzle of premium olive oil transformed it into a sophisticated, bittersweet triumph that, when paired with a chilled plate of fresh fruits, left us craving more.

As a bonus for those who like a little retail therapy with their seaside dining, the venue features a charming beachside boutique. It is filled with stylish pieces that, refreshingly, won’t actually bust your bank account - a rare find for a beach club of this calibre.

When the final glasses of cava sangria were emptied, our verdict was overwhelmingly positive. Tigre Morado delivers the perfect combination of elements for a scorching summer’s day in Ibiza. With its top-tier Nikkei gastronomy, unpretentious, deeply relaxing beach-club atmosphere, and a front-row seat to the San Antonio Bay sunset, it remains one of the most rewarding and essential dining rituals anywhere on the White Isle.
Make sure to reserve your table or bed and enjoy the experience for yourself.
