Over the past couple of summers, Gordo has made his mark felt at Pacha with a string of guest appearances across various parties. As a result, a residency of his own never seemed far from reach. In 2026, that has manifested, as he's landed a six-date run called Taraka.
While the majority are set to take place on Tuesday nights in the latter half of summer, this past Friday night we got a preview as part of Pacha's early-season programme.
Adopting a female-only support cast is something that hadn't been done before. Thankfully, a few promotions have gone in this direction in 2026 - and Gordo is one of them. Big moves.

Before the season, the Guatemalan DJ and producer went to Instagram to declare: "I want to see more women in this space being supported, respected and given the platform they deserve.Yes, I love women, that has never been a secret. I was raised by women, so I understand the strength it takes to navigate this world and build something from nothing."
Eager to catch some fresh female talents get the exposure they deserve, I headed down to Pacha on 1 May to check whether Taraka delivered on its promise.

Playing back-to-back, DiOsa and Mojie were the two rising stars who kicked the night off.
Formerly known as Blondi, DiOsa spent the last few months in Dubai as resident of Five Holdings' Pacha-affiliated venues, including Bohemia and Playa Pacha. Being someone who knows her personally, I'm aware how much its been a dream of hers to play at Pacha Ibiza.

Over the last few months, she has earned her stripes and was rewarded with the last minute call up.
Having not met before previously, opening such an iconic club was no doubt a daunting prospect, but the pair worked perfectly together, with similar styles of mixing and track selection.
DiOsa's debut was a memorable one. Not only for her, but for me too. As I was stood behind her in support, she played my edit of Jakatta's 2002 hit American Dream to a packed dancefloor. My first time hearing it in a club setting, it was a lovely gesture I'll forever be grateful for.

Next up, was the first of many Taraka appearances for Gordo's chosen one, resident Gala.
Before she jumped on the decks. I was introduced to her along with other members of Gordo's entourage. Warm and radiating energy, Gala glow spread to the dancefloor. I found myself bopping away to her as I manoeuvred around the club, her music blasting through the speakers.
After spending some time in the green room, I headed back down as the next resident, Venezuelan Sacchi, was starting. I was struck, not only with her whole stage presence, but the contents of her USB. Really ramping the energy up, she raised the tempo with Latin-laced fire.
On the evidence presented, Gordo's choice of residents could not be called into question.

All four understood the assignment, passing over a dancefloor ripe for the picking to our larger-than-life host.
While the ol' boys' club continues to operate in much the same way it always has and online misogyny reaches alarming new levels of vitriol, it's never been as important as it is now for the industry's influential men to support women. Gordo gets his props for that.
But that is only half of the solution. It is becoming clear that what's equally as important - perhaps moreso - is that women need to start supporting other women. Sadly, this is something that I have noticed to be severely lacking as a female DJ/producer navigating the space myself.

The boys are well-organised and have networks that support each other by design. Whilst having a competitive edge is a positive attribute, it should not be confused with competing with one another. There is space for everybody. Beautiful things happen when we work together.
Women should always elevate other women, because we can't rely on a few men to do it for us.
Gordo presents Taraka is back on five consecutive weeks between 25 August and 29 September.

Tickets for those parties are on sale and available to purchase below. In the meantime, you can find all of Gordo's confirmed Ibiza dates by clicking here.
