Setting a new trend for Ibiza wedding season

Lauren from Hidden Treasures talks wedding styles and trends for the season ahead.

While your nuptials don't have to follow the latest season's fashion, wedding style will often mirror what we see on the runways and on the high street. For couples, it's about choosing what works for their Ibiza wedding, and allowing their own sense of style to bounce off both new and old trends.

In fact, brides and grooms are allowing their creative flair to be showcased more and more on their special days.

Of course, allowing your dreams to be realised and go without a hitch, an expert eye always helps. Here, Ibiza wedding planner Lauren Kaycee from Hidden Treasures Ibiza shares more on the latest trends and how she see's things shaping up for the season.

What trends have you noticed make their way from the high street to the wedding day?

"Over the last two years, fashion has embraced rich tones such as browns, mochas, deep reds, wines and plums. Unsurprisingly, these palettes have begun to appear more frequently within the Ibiza wedding scene, adding warmth and depth to event design.

Now we’re starting to see a shift again. Fringe, layered textures and a 'more is more' attitude are replacing the pared-back minimalism of the recent 'clean girl' era. Naturally, this will filter into weddings. From this, you can expect to see more immersive styling, such as abundant florals, bold colour combinations, dramatic textures and statement lighting installations. The look is less polished perfection and more expressive, whimsical and layered.

For bridal fashion, this really opens the door to individuality and personal style. Corseted silhouettes, layered skirts, oversized veils and sculptural headpieces are appearing more often as brides look to express their own sense of creativity, rather than follow a traditional formula.

Personally, I love pearl headpieces with a subtle nod to the 1920s Gatsby era; elegant hats and oversized florals woven through the hair are beautiful. Although we have yet to see these pieces incorporated as widely across Ibiza weddings, let's see what this year brings."

Have you noticed a change in popularity between specific venue weddings and villa weddings in Ibiza?

"It's fair to say that both styles are still very popular for wedding venues in Ibiza. However, it is worth noting that each comes with its own considerations, so the choice will be influenced by the couple's desire for how they wish their day to be designed.

Ibiza villa weddings are always incredibly special, but they will require some careful planning. As an Ibiza wedding planner, we must ensure the property is properly licensed, that neighbours are not disturbed, and that there is a suitable soundproof space for the evening celebration. The practical elements, such as power supply, lighting, shade and weather cover, also need to be thoughtfully managed.

That said, villa weddings can be perfect for smaller, more intimate celebrations. They often allow greater flexibility, particularly because couples are not always tied to strict minimum spends or set price-per-guest structures. There is also the luxury of time, so family gatherings the day before, relaxed poolside lunches, or post-wedding dinners can all become part of the wedding experience.

Styling and atmosphere can also be more personalised, allowing more freedom to choose touches to decor and ambience.

Ibiza venue weddings, on the other hand, tend to offer a more structured environment. The benefits are that logistical elements, such as power, lighting, infrastructure and maintenance, are already taken care of behind the scenes, and some venues also have dedicated soundproof party areas.

However, there will usually be venue hire fees and minimum spends to consider, and some venues may also have guidelines around timing, menus or styling.

From our perspective, both approaches work beautifully. Every Ibiza wedding is different, and the right setting depends entirely on the couple and the atmosphere they want to create. Fortunately, Ibiza offers an incredible variety of spaces, meaning there is always something that feels just right."

What style shifts have you started seeing from couples?

"Couples planning for 2026 are increasingly looking for originality. They’re no longer interested in a timeline or aesthetic that feels familiar or overly curated on Pinterest. Instead, they want something memorable, like jaw-dropping visuals, extraordinary gastronomy and cocktails that feel like miniature works of art.

Personally, I would love to see more unconventional timelines across weddings hosted in Ibiza. Imagine beginning the celebration with a long lunch, followed by a late-afternoon ceremony as the light softens. There are so many creative possibilities, and finally, we’re starting to work with a generation of couples who are open to exploring them."

How does this impact your considerations in design and theme?

"Design-wise, texture and tonal layering will be a major focus for us this season. Draping continues to be a key element, and we’re experimenting with it in new ways, alongside richer colours and striking focal pieces. Lace, soft structures and sculptural fabric installations will all be making an appearance across the summer.

For us, it’s essential to collaborate with creatives rather than rely purely on rental pieces. Our sister company, Boa Designs Ibiza, develops all of our wedding styling concepts, and we spend much of the year designing, sourcing, sewing and experimenting with new ideas to keep each Ibiza wedding fresh and distinctive."

What can we expect from Hidden Treasures Ibiza this summer?

"So much more!

This year, we’re launching something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Now that the right team is in place, it finally feels like the perfect moment.

We’re creating an Ibiza wedding podcast that lifts the curtain on the industry, full of behind-the-scenes stories, unexpected moments and plenty of laughter. The first series is currently being filmed, and we’re hoping to launch on Spotify and YouTube early this summer.

It’s an exciting project not only for us, but for the wider Ibiza wedding community. Today’s couples are looking for something more engaging, more honest and more human, and this podcast is a chance to share that side of the industry.

We will have a range of great guests, including local suppliers - all with incredible experiences to share - along with past, present and future brides and grooms. From engagement stories that didn’t quite go to plan to unforgettable Ibiza celebrations, there will be plenty to talk about.

We're super excited for it all to take shape and begin sharing it with everyone. We’d love readers to join the conversation over on Instagram at Hot Mess Cold Feet, where the stories continue."
