The five-star W Ibiza hotel is closing its summer art programme with a collective exhibition by the local art gallery Olas Gallery, celebrating 18 artists involved in the programme for the first time. The evens offers visitors the chance to see their work alongside one another and get a broader sense of the creative community currently living in Ibiza.
Taking place on Thursday 17 September from 19:00 to 22:00, the exhibition will turn the Santa Eulalia hotel into an artistic trail, running from the entrance through to the W Lounge, alongside an interactive installation and DJ soundtrack.
Visitors will encounter works by Beatrice Poggio, Dolly Gorman, Elizabeth Rose Langford, Eliana Perinat, Fell in Love with the Sky, Francesca Love, Kevin Allison, Lee Needham, Liz Kueneke, Ned Irving, Phrank, Picky Paino, Raul Hood, Roseline de Thelin, Simona Marziani, Sofía Gómez Fonzo, Valentina Bouza and Virgi222.
Rather than following a single theme or artistic discipline, the exhibition brings together a range of approaches to colour, material, light and the natural environment.
The artists come from different countries and backgrounds, but share a connection with Ibiza and its contemporary creative community.
The exhibition will also incorporate Under the Surface, the permanent installation by Ned Irving currently displayed between the lobby and W Lounge.
An interactive installation will invite guests to become part of the artwork during the evening, while a DJ provides the soundtrack. A welcome drink will also be served in the W Lounge, where the exhibition route finishes.
A summer of contemporary art
The collective exhibition marks the culmination of W Ibiza's collaboration with Olas Gallery, which has brought a series of art-focused events to the hotel throughout the summer.
These have included Under the Surface, as well as Dive Into Art – La Isla Bonita, a photographic exhibition by Sofía Gómez Fonzo, and a live painting session by Dolly Gorman at Yellow Fish restaurant, situated nearby on the promenade.
