Ibiza club rewind | Amnesia

The best sets from years gone by.

Returning to San Rafael, slap bang in the middle of the island, actually, our Ibiza club rewind roars into Amnesia.

Huge production, expansive dance floors, wild crowds and parties that last from dusk to dawn, for many Amnesia is the archetypal Ibiza club. You just don't find clubs like this anywhere else in the world. Straight fact.

Whether it's four impressionable clubbers from London chancing upon Alfredo's open-air sets in summer '87 or its powerful CO2 cannons, Amnesia is prominent in Ibiza modern day folklore. Just namecheck the parties: Cocoon, Cream, Matinée, Foam & Diamonds. All of them iconic.

Lots of great sets spring to mind. Whittling them down to a handful was no easy task, but the three below capture the stature, energy and Balearic hedonism of this world famous club. Being that Amnesia celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 2026, we'd better make them count.

Mónica Pallàs Gómez (HOT CUES) | BRESH Ibiza (2025)

Saturday nights at Amnesia have long been the night for wild crowds and crazy production.

Reggaeton may be a divisive genre for dance music purists in northern Europe, but here in southern Europe we don't really understand what all the fuss is about. The kids here love Latin music and South American export BRESH caters to those very insatiable needs.

While Amnesia may have reputation for being a "Techno club", let's at least agree that on a Spanish island with a largely Spanish population, it stands to reason that Amnesia would have a least one night a week dedicated to the booming division of Spanish language music.

It might as well be on local's choice Saturday night. If you are not yet acquainted, we dare you to dip your toes in and give it a try. What's the worst that could happen? This could be an awakening for you.

Deborah de Luca | Pyramid (2025)

For our next featured set, we flip over to the Main Room and dial the tempo all the way up.

In-house Sunday session Pyramid channels Amnesia's underground sessions of old. The Main Room is the designated balls-to-the-wall Techno. One of the party's standout stars has been Deborah de Luca. The DJ from Napoli can regularly be found shelling it out. 2026 is no different.

In fact, since its inception in 2018, Pyramid has always thrown its weight behind the industry's leading ladies. As well as Deborah, Nina Kraviz, Amelie Lens, Fatima Hajji and Clara Cluvé are all regularly booked to play.

Her set contains tracks from Maddix, Lilly Palmer and plenty of her own edits and original productions. WARNING: this is not for anybody faint of heart.

Mar-T b2b Caal | Amnesia Closing Party (2022)

No matter the year, Amnesia always goes out with a bang at its marathon Closing Party. Though these parties are stacked with some of the most prominent DJs on the planet, oftentimes it's the lesser known names that end up stealing the show.

Amnesia's band of resident DJs are frequently guilty of doing so. Raised within Amnesia's walls, Mar-T has learned from and been inspired by the best in the business. Here, the boss goes back-to-back with another of the club's unsung heroes in Caal. The chemistry is off the chart.

Tech stormers and House anthems all mixed together for the true Amnesia experience. The season ends with a bang! You'll hear music from Franky Rizardo, Ben Stirling and Kreature.

Fast-forward

Last year, Amnesia cut a forlorn figure, having been subject to what can only be described as a smash-and-grab over winter from rival clubs. Between summer 2024 ending and 2025 beginning, it lost its three biggest weekly parties. Lesser clubs would have folded. But not Amnesia.

What a difference a year makes. Twelve months later and, to mark fifty years since the club first opened its doors, we can say beyond all doubt that Amnesia is back!

Prodigal son Joseph Capriati has returned with Metamorfosi, Glitterbox and Rememberland (previously COT80s) have both defected to make up new-look Fridays and young gun Josh Baker has secured his first island residency with You&Me.

Meanwhile, RESISTANCE, Kettama and the aforementioned Pyramid and BRESH stay part of the programme. Plus there are one-offs confirmed for Max Dean, Cocoon, The Haçienda, Jean-Michel Jarre, Teletech and Godskitchen.

Despite being on life-support last year, Amnesia is now registering a clean bill of health. Perhaps that's doing it a disservice. Better yet, it is firing on all cylinders and determined to settle old scores. We think it's going to be an incredible 2026 for team Amnesia.
