It may come as a surprise to learn that, despite all the world-class restaurants in and around the island's capital Ibiza Town, it's the quieter, family-oriented resort of Santa Eulalia that has long been considered the island's gastronomic heart.
Santa Eulalia has a density of fine-quality establishments, in great locations and at all budgets, that exceed any other part of the island. Great restaurants are strung like beads along the municipality's golden coastline, dotted around the town's classy sports marina, or clustered in the famous ‘restaurant street' (Carrer de Sant Vicent)

High-end
On the rooftop terrace of Aguas de Ibiza Hotel & Spa
Celebrating Peruvian cuisine in all its delectable variety, Maymanta - located on the rooftop of the 5-star Aguas de Ibiza hotel - is a must for gourmands who appreciate fine food in a matchless setting thanks to its superlative views of the marina and town. Undoubtedly, one of our favourite spots to relax and enjoy an unobstructed and exceptional view, is from the deck of CBbC Marina Sta Eulalia. There is no better location to see the town from this unique vantage point, whilst getting knuckles-deep into a plate of fresh seafood or paella. CBbC selects the highest-quality local produce from the sea and the land to create delicious recipes that are 100% Ibizan.
On Santa Eulalia Promenade
Part of the W Ibiza hotel complex, Yellow Fish Beach Club, in Santa Eulalia, serves fresh Mediterranean dishes - made using 0 km produce - with the accent on freshly grilled meats and fish. It has an extensive wine list and a nice line in imaginative cocktails. Laidback and boho, it’s the perfect blend of gourmet dining and relaxed beach luxury. For non-guests, its day pass programme is a boon for some quality pampering.
Mid-range
Situated some way along the famed “restaurant street”, Ca Na Ribes is a traditional restaurant much loved by locals and visitors to the town. With a choice of different seating areas outside on the terrace and inside in the patio, it's got a ‘homely' vibe that makes it stand out from more tourist-oriented eateries. Add to that generous portions of tasty Mediterranean fare, good service and a genuinely heartfelt welcome, and you have a delightfully characterful restaurant.
In Santa Eulalia Marina
Jatayufocuses on next-level, home-cooked Indian fare that is both delicious and nutritional. On the terrace, diners can enjoy port views while inside it offers a stylish, lounge-style space with comfortable furnishings and opulent decor. Well-chosen Balearic beats provide the musical backdrop, enhancing the Ibiza vibes. Apt for families, couples and groups, Jatayu fits perfectly into Santa Eulalia's upmarket dining scene.
Word of Mouth combines vibrant international street food with superb music and a community vibe. Steps from the "river" and Santa Eulalia beach, this boho-style restaurant features locally sourced ingredients, vegetarian options, and a nice beer selection. Ibiza DJs provide Balearic beats, enhancing the open-air, relaxing atmosphere perfect for sundowner cocktails or takeaway feasts. Highlights are also the regular events that take place here true to Word of Mouth's philosophy: “Fill life with love!”
Another one worth checking out on the promenade, O Galego is an excellent Galician seafood restaurant. Given the Galician reputation for high-quality fish and seafood and an abundance of wines of an equally high standard, it's easy to understand why it has become a firm favourite with foodies, both resident and visiting.
Budget
An Ibizan rendezvous spot par excellence, Royalty occupies the corner of the high street and the town square in the heart of Santa Eulalia. Popular with long-standing island residents and holidaymakers alike, it's a prime spot for a coffee or a mid-morning caña of beer as you observe the world pass by. It also does a good line in breakfasts, sandwiches, soups, and salads, not to mention a great value menú del día and à la carte dishes.
From its home on ‘restaurant street', Asian Road serves up an eclectic range of delicious Asian fusion cuisine. Laidback and reasonably priced, this highly popular restaurant is ideal for lunch or dinner. Metres away, island institution Kathmandu has been serving up tasty Nepalese cuisine at very reasonable prices for many years. Heading back towards the sea, Schawarma is the spot for what are arguably the best Lebanese kebabs on Ibiza. Our tip: leave some room for their delicious, homemade baklava.
Highly recommended spots near Santa Eulalia
In Sol d'en Serra bay, just outside Cala Llonga
This super chilled restaurant/beach club stands high on a cliff overlooking the turquoise waters of Sol d'en Serra, seven kilometres south of Santa Eulalia. Its menu highlights the best of contemporary Spanish and Italian cuisine and uses fresh organic ingredients taken from its kitchen garden. With its lush greenery, Amante is perfect for laid-back lunches and romantic dinners overlooking the moonlit sea.
Part of the new 4-star hotel complex of Mondrian & Hyde Ibiza, overlooking the bay of Cala Llonga, Cuyo offers outstanding Mexican fare while Niko specialises in traditional Japanese haute cuisine with Mediterranean influences. Just below the hotel complex, on the beach, Sonrojo serves tasty seaside food such as freshly grilled fish, paella and other Spanish specialities.
Close to the beach in the popular resort of Cala Llonga, Maneki serves not only burgers (highly rated) and sushi but fusion food from around the world. It also offers veggie options, a midday menu and a kids menu. With delicious dishes, friendly service and reasonable prices, this little-known restaurant exceeds expectations.
In the resort of Siesta, close to the town
The chic, dolce-vita-style, adults-only hotel Mongibello is worth a visit to enjoy an espresso or a nice refreshment while you admire its distinctive look. Ristorante Sorella at Mongibello - which opens exclusively at night - serves up genuine Italian home cooking with an innovative Mediterranean touch.
Overlooking the stunning beach of Cala Nova, some 10 km east of Santa Eulalia, Aiyanna Ibiza has rapidly earned its place among Ibiza's top beachside restaurants. It offers panoramic nature and sea views, lots of laid-back luxuriances, and sumptuous Eastern Mediterranean-inspired cuisine based on organic and ethically-sourced produce.
On the same stretch of sand, Es Fumeral showcases the best of regional cuisine using high-quality local and national produce.
Tucked just metres from the famous Punta Arabí market, in the resort of Es Caná, EsBirra serves globally inspired tapas (try the delicious pulled pork nachos), craft beers and delicious cocktails in a laidback, welcoming setting. By night, it transforms into an artsy hub featuring top stand-up comedians from the UK, live music by bands, DJ sessions and dancing. Spotlight tip: Post-market Wednesdays pair perfectly with their iced coffees and sunset tunes.
A few kilometres inland, on the outskirts of the village of San Carlos, San Carlos Bar Restaurante is devoted to serving up the very finest cuts of Uruguayan meats, fresh seafood dishes and homemade pasta. Its pleasant surroundings and simple, unhurried approach to dining make it ideal for a gathering with family or friends.
Double back towards Santa Eulalia on the main road and you find LU·UM Ibiza. Specialising in locally sourced, wood-fired grilled international cuisine, signature tapas and innovative cocktails, it also offers a spacious exterior terrace with cocktail lounge, a homely kids' playground and a snazzy boutique.
