Pyramid's season might be in full flow at Amnesia on Sunday nights, but one question mark still hung over the party. It hangs no longer. The secret guests pencilled in for the penultimate party on 1 October have now been sensationally revealed to be The Chemical Brothers.
Several names were thrown around as potential candidates for the mystery spot, including last year's special guests at Pyramid, Bicep. However, few are likely to be disappointed by this news, given the duo's history - as well as their last appearance.
This will be a repeat of last year's Amnesia Closing Festival, when The Chems stole the show with their headline performance. That historic night saw Amnesia welcome record numbers of dance music lovers to its dancefloor for a night that will live long in the memory.
Amnesia is the perfect setting for The Chemical Brothers, thanks to its cutting-edge light and laser show, world-class sound system and the biggest CO2 cannons on the planet.
We doubt they need any introduction, but just to refresh your memory The Chemical Brothers are an award-winning, chart-topping, game-changing double-act in both the studio and the club.
Later this year, the pair will release their biography, Paused in Cosmic Reflection, which dives deeper into their legacy.
Ahead of that, their tenth studio album, For The Beautiful Feeling, arrives in September and features 11 tracks, including a handful of recently released cuts including No Reason, The Darkness That You Fear and Live Again.
Some of these tracks we heard for the first time last October at Amnesia. What new material could we be treated to on this occasion?
Ed Simon and Tom Rowlands will be joined by Marco Faraone, Eats Everything and Caal on the Terraza. Fatima Hajji, Kobosil, Manu Sanchez and Reinier Zonneveld (live) had already previously been announced for the Main Room.
