Cocoon 20 is heating up at Amnesia Ibiza

Four Monday parties down and six to go - including some tasty debuts.

Check your blood-pressure, after a white-knuckle start we think it's safe to say that Cocoon is back. Not that it really went anywhere, but the Amnesia homecoming was as sweet as we had hoped. There's no place like home.

The scenes depicted in the above video tells its own story - enough said. Yet what followed in week two with Solomun continued the wave of euphoria. Next door, Charlotte de Witte made her debut count with an audacious set of uncensored techno.

During week three we partied without Papa Sven Väth for the first time this summer. Ricardo, Seth and Craig meant he wasn't missed on the terrace, while the ever-reliable Ilario Alicante took care of business in the club room.

The night will be remembered for a strong turnout of the Cocoon old guard.

Three blockbuster shows down at Amnesia for the party's twentieth year, let's take a closer look at a selection of the remaining dates.

Sven's only club show

He can't hear you.

On Monday 8 July, Sven returned with his only scheduled club show of the summer. As if that was not unmissable enough, UK techno stalwart Luke Slater played live as his Planetary Assault System project.

On the Terrace, party favourite Adam Beyer delivered an extended set with support from Cocooner André Galluzzi. Roman Flügel made his only Ibiza appearance in 2019 count, in what was another top notch night.

While Tale Of Us have played under the Cocoon banner in the UK - at Leeds' Cocoon In the Park festival in 2018 - they've yet to play for the party in Ibiza. But that changes in week five on Monday 22 July. Karm & Matteo will join Sven on the Terrace that night.

Sven returns the favour later this summer when he guests at Afterlife in early September. In the Club room, seasoned Cocoon heads Dubfire and Josh Wink form a formidable backbone, as ANNA makes her Cocoon debut. We can't wait for the Brazilian's inauguration.

She's back for the closing party on 30 September, for anybody who misses out.

Flexing muscles

Koze rockin' the terrace.

Monday 19 August is a special date, as Sven rekindles his brotherhood with countryman and Pampa boss DJ Koze on the Terrace. We always look forward to the date that Koze is in town. His track XTC holds some fond memories of that dance floor. Bring it on.

Arguably the biggest posturing happens in the Club room, where Irish trendsetters Bicep play their one and only Ibiza appearance of the whole year. Also the duo's party debut, they're joined by Galluzzi and Traumer.

A date with Nina

Monday 2 September is the second and final date without Sven, but no worry. The ever-dependable Nina Kraviz is on headline duties. The трип female-preneur is joined by another leading lady in Sonja Moonear, plus Giegling associate Edward.

The Terrace is equally tasty, with Ben Klock given his annual run-out. More accustomed to the Club room, it will be interesting to see how Klock mixes things up in the other room. Ilario and Dana Ruh keeps things typically Cocoon.

Pulling an all-nighter

Sven taking the crowd on a fabled journey.

Another stand-out occasion is Sven's all night long sessions - and 16 September is the only time we get to experience it in 2019. We get to see every facet of his persona: thumping techno, deeper tracks, trippy psy and maybe even some dalliance with trance.

Opposite, the talent is packed-in. Nastia, Cassy and Carl Craig provide real superstar value pound-for-pound. Be sure to catch Cesar Vinzent open the room, on a night that demands you stay from doors open through to the last track.

Naturally, we could include mention of the closing party as well - but that one speaks for itself.
