5 memorable sets from RESISTANCE Ibiza

A look back ahead of the opening.

Calling all techno lovers - it is time to grab your dancing shoes as the week we have all been waiting for is finally here. Tuesdays on Ibiza are set to change for the better, with the return of leading techno party RESISTANCE to the world's largest nightclub.

In light of its return, we thought it best to take a look at some of RESISTANCE's most memorable music performances. Check it out.

Having taken the world by storm, the RESISTANCE brand hosts parties in every continent and, for the third year in a row, will grace Ibiza for a huge nine-week residency this summer.

With arguably the champion of all residents Carl Cox on their side for four dates this season, the underground party also possesses perhaps the greatest tech-heavy line up of the summer.

Other names set to impose techno-bliss on the main room and terrace include Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Maceo Plex and Sasha as well as newcomer Charlotte De Witte and tech-house don Jamie Jones.

Expect stunning production and intense vibrations when visiting the killer party for yourself, but be warned - this is not one for the faint-hearted!

SASHA & JOHN DIGWEED | 2017 | WEEK 1

Perhaps the most noteworthy set of RESISTANCE's Ibiza history was the highly anticipated collaboration between a match made in heaven. The long-time allies, Sasha and John Digweed, made waves at the parties opening fiesta and set the vibe for what was going to be a musical revolution.

The set consisted of mainly industrial techno with a few melodic numbers thrown in for good measure. Check out Jupiter by Alexander Aurel to hear a slice of their set list.

DUBFIRE B2B NICOLE MOUDABER B2B PACO OSUNA | 2017 | CLOSING

After a monumental first season, RESISTANCE closed with an epic three-way b2b consisting of techno giants Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna. Taking over the 12,000 capacity main room, the trio raised the roof with mega-track ANOTR - Let me tell you.

The set was plausibly the perfect end to a mammoth first season for the RESISTANCE name and left rave-goers gagging for more. Other played tracks included Dark Spirit by Mono Ear and Kreature - Marbles.

CHARLOTTE DE WITTE | 2018 | WEEK 1

Relatively new to the scene, Charlotte De Witte made her RESISTANCE and Privilege debut for the opening party of the night's second season.

Proving her aptitude for the techno domain, the new girl on the block wowed all in attendance with an ultra-heavy, moving performance in the Vista Club.

Closing the club, Witte delved deep into souls with her hollowing track Kuda (Original mix). What a way to start the season.

RICHIE HAWTIN | 2018 | WEEK 2

Another unforgettable resistance set was that of electronic musician and DJ Richie Hawtin. Whilst the three-time DJ Awards winner and techno superstar was never going to disappoint, I don't think anyone was ready for the set he delivered.

Hawtin's hardcore style meant that RESISTANCE was arguably more alive than ever before, making for a night that will certainly go down in clubbing history.

Using his specially designed, top-of-the-range Model 1 mixer, the techno-wizard unleashed absolute carnage on the crowd and my god was it brilliant.

Take a listen to Lost by Paul Neary, an outright head-banger which I guarantee will make you crave a night at RESISTANCE.

CARL COX BIRTHDAY | 2018 | WEEK 3

Finally, last year RESISTANCE invited us all to a birthday party like no other. The king himself, Carl Cox made his mighty debut all on the same night as his birthday. Wow.

The turnout was immense and it seemed as though everyone on the island turned up to dance with the birthday boy. With an amazing atmosphere to match, the night was a huge success.

Laying down the law with his usual hefty repertoire, Coxy maintained us in the crowd right to the very end. Adam Beyer's Your Mind - later crowned as the track of the summer at the DJ Awards - was a stand out track from his set and sent us into musical meltdown.

Missed it? Don't dismay. The mighty Cox will be throwing another birthday bash this 30 July. You do not want to miss this one. It all starts a week before that, though, on Tuesday 23 July.

And there we have it. If this RESISTANCE fix was not enough to meet all your techno needs then be sure to check out our party calendar to secure your very own tickets for the opening party this Tuesday. We shall be on that dance floor.
