One of the leading platforms in electronic music, the International Music Summit (IMS) has unveiled the themes and topics of this year's summit here on Ibiza. The conference will once again cover some of the most salient issues currently facing the industry.
For its 12th edition, the three-day conference pushes forward with its wellness agenda to stimulate the potential within the electronic music industry.
The mental health crisis debate continues one year into the early disappearance of Avicii, as Keith Flint joins the ranks of those gone too soon. The conference will explore what the industry has done to protect our mental health, as well as an extended debate on the crisis in clubland.
Mixmag will be covering The New Wave, as well as presenting An Algorithm, a Person or a Brand: who do you trust the most? For its market focus, the summit will look at the electronic music and the Eastern Bloc as well as the Palestinian electronic music scene.
Other topics include ghost production, intersectionality, the politics of dancing, diversity on the dance floor, the state of social media, balanced line-ups, safer clubbing environments and sustainable touring, amongst others.
One of the most anticipated talks of the event, the Great Annual Ibiza Debate will also take place on the final day of the conference. Meanwhile, we do know that for the Annual Digital Debate will cover streaming in the booth.
Also known as the "TED talk of music conferences," this premier global platform for business, culture and education within the industry is an unmissable event for those who are involved or want to be involved in electronic music.
Besides myriad parties throughout the week of the conference taking place from 22 to 24 May 2019, the event culminates in what many consider THE event of the year: IMS Dalt Vila, the open-air party that takes place atop the old town of Ibiza. That's right - smack in the middle of the postcard.
